Kimbo Slice as a boxer...discuss...don't diss...let's sort it out.

I am sure that this has been asked before...but I shall ask for me own's sake.

Everyone knows that I hate MMA...with a passion...but for some reason I have always enjoyed watching Kimbo hammer people out in street fights. I don't care what anyone says...that aint MMA. That's pretty much basically bare knuckle boxing...now that he's gone MMA...what I have to ask is rather a moot point...but let's just pretend that he didn't go the MMA route & followed the boxing trail.

For conversations sake...let's just say that he came into the game & got a decent trainer...let's say that he got tied in McGirt, Burns, or some of the low key guys...if you wanna go further...then saddle him with Roach or Steward...whatever tickles your fancy.

How do you think that he would turn out?

I agree that he's a bum beater...or a thug-thumper...but he has fought some pretty decent fellars out there on the MMA circuit in the back alley's a done fairly well...but I want to know what you think he might be as a boxer.

Personally...with some training & good management...I aint got no shame...I'll say that I think that he could be somebody.

His straight rights are devastating & his left hooks usually put men on their knees. If he had a jab...a real one...he's be hell. He's got good upper body movement & the fact that he's used to skipping through bottles & trash & shit...I say that once he got the feel of it he good probably learn a good ring ethic.

I really want to have a serious conver about this...not a buncha shat talking.

Give me some intelligence here peeps.

Kimbo is street fighter not a boxer he seems to have suspect stamina with some of the short clips i've seen of him and no boxing skills even with a trainer he wouldn't make it although i will give Kimbo one thing he has a good chin.

I would have thought someone would have helped him into the boxing game if they'd seen some real legitimate talent in him. More money in boxing if he's good enough. MMA's a perfect sport for him to get into as just add some ground skills and 1/2 the dudes are probably already scared of him, and there you go, pretty quick easy money. Watching that guy practically lay down for him the other night is quite a good gauge for how he'll do in MMA, but boxing is probably out for him as he is a little older isn't he? 30 something?

That fight looked like a fix. Maybe it wasn't but.. the other guy wasn't there to win.

And Kimbo is an OLD fucker that can punch for 30 seconds. He'd get TOTALLY mullered in a boxing ring.

Kimbo a hulking, heavy-handed monster of a man. Which makes him too ponderous to be effective in boxing. It's just not suited for him plain and simple.

I have a feeling that he is short-winded as well. A trainer might take some muscle of him and give him some moxie, but I think if you lose the girth you lose the man. Kimbo is that big for a reason. His size his a security blanket. It's his identity.

Also, the beard would have to stay that is a Kimbo Slice trademark.

I actually agree with Wacko in that he could be pretty dangerous. He reminds me Shannon Briggs without the chronic lung disease.

He'd be pretty dangerous for a couple rounds at least,

But I think MMA is a more suited sport to him. He's a scary dude to face in the ring and when you're facing him completely no holds barred he must be a pretty intimidating foe to face.

Boxing would put too many shackles on him and not allow him to unleash fully so glad he's gone into MMA.

I think he could be a Butterbean type sideshow fighter. Maybe a little better, but put him in with a top 30 guy and he gets KTFO.

I dont think that beard will be allowed in boxing, he does have a decent chin tho. Ive seen him take some shots and not get rocked. I dont think he has the stamina to be a boxer right now. Maybe with the right trainer he could be decent but I dont see him as a contender but maybe a good gatekeeper. He will draw a crowd for awhile if he doesnt stink up the ring when he's in there.

VD hit's in right on the head...There is a difference between going 2 minutes in a street fight then 12 or 10 rounds all out
