Default Ruslan chagaev first defense v Matt Skelton

So mr. white tyson is fighting Matt skelton for on jan 19

i personally think that skelton is too old to even win, but hes basically undefeated since he revenge his lost to danny williams, and hes only been a prof fighter since 5 yrs, he'd have a career if he wins

what do u think about the fight?
the rankings are crap, cuz this guy isnt even ranked in the top ten of the wba.

do u guys think he deserve this fight, i'd rather see john ruiz....LOL jk

The only thing I like about Chagaev is the fact he beat Valuev....For some reason this guy about appealing listening to Ben Stein recite the phonebook

Well, as a Brit we all know that Frankie W has been making a lot of promises to his heavyweights for three or four years now, and although Chagaev might not exactly be the exciting dynamo that is going to clean out the division, neither is Matt Skelton, and I really think that Skelton will get beat, then rejoin the square dance with the other three british heavyweights as they shuffle their feet and belts around.

I'm pleased for Skelton, he gets his fair share of knocks but he's a true honest professional, always in shape, always prepared and always make the most of his limited talent.

I honestly thought he got robbed in the first Williams fight but he didn't complain, and instead just changed his style and won the rematch easily.

Unlike the rest of the British heavies he's never let himself down and so clearly is the most deserving domestic heavyweight to get a shot.

Does he deserve a title shot though? I think he does, if guys like Monte Barrett, Peter Okhello and Ray Austin can fight for a belt certainly Matt Skelton, with only one defeat, and that controversial is as good as opponent as any.

He probably won't win, but I'm pleased his hard work has finally got him a shot at least.

Don't be too pleased for him. He was offered a shot against Maskaev last year but turned it down to fight Audley instead.. before it all ballsed-up.

Great winning a "world" title but not at the expense of earning decent wonga.

Ruslan picks up a wide UD. In fact I suspect a near shut out on the cards unless Skelton sits on him.

Hope Matt pulls it off then he will never have to fight Williams or Sprott again.

Dusseldorf.....smells like Skelton's going to need a KO to get a result there then...or he's going to need to be significantly better than Chagaev to get a points win.

Good post, when you read the long line of duds who get shots, then Skelton doesn't look too bad.

That's the main drawback of this fight, it's a very predictable UD for Ruslan.

Skelton's heart, workrate, stamina and strength could be to much for Chagaev.

    i can actualy...

You look back at alot of the fights frank has tried to make and the most of the time it hasn't been his fault...

Yes there are un confirmed rumors that the calzaghe froch, enzo haye fights fell through because warren wanted promotional rights iff froch.haye won, his fault that was bullshit if true...

but look at things like calzaghe v johnson 1,2 & 3, joe pulled out of them, not frank... The first lacy date, Joe pulled out of it, not fank, he made all those fights...

Eubank, benn, hatton, williams... he got all their big fights, the fights that put them on the world stage...

I'm far, far from a frank warren fan... but prior to the calzaghe reign, no one really had a problem with warren. his rep seemed to go down because calzaghe didn't fight the big american names... apart form a few select fights, warren has done what he needs to to make them happen.

While I agree on Calzaghe being the one to bitch out against Johnson, I ask you why couldn't Hatton get any big fights while he was under Warren?
