Ah well it least it will mean Oscar ends his career 4 of his last 6 fights.

Hopefully his embarrasing pictures of him in ladies clothing will turn off his fans and a rematch won't make him half as much money as before.

What these two boxers do not understand is that boxing is entertainment and this fight will not be as entertaining or in high demand as the first. Yeah, it will get interest because the casual fan believes de la Hoya is great, even though he hasn't been great for awhile, and Mayweather's personality is intriguing. But I will personally boycott this fight and not contribute to the de la Hoya enrichment fund and the Floyd Mayweather retirment fund. They will not play me for a sucker again!!

i actually think it will be a much better fight than the ist one---dlh knows its a winnable fight for him and im not sure he really felt that way the 1st time around. i think he knows if he trains harder and commits to the jab he can really win.

on the flip side pbf knows he must step it up and be more active in a rematch. he survived a close shave the 1st time and he knows he cant gamble like that again and fight the same fight.

so there will be more action in this fight i believe with dlh throwing the jab more often and floys trying to flurry more and throw more combos rather than 1 puch at a time

this will open up the fight more and we may even see a kayo finish

I think this is still an interesting fight, especially when the other option is Mayweather retiring for 2 years. Yes i know Cotto is out there but Floyd aint fighting him until it becomes a mega fight.....and that's probably not until 2009.

This time round Oscar will feel he knows exactly how to win. He knows exactly why he didn't win last time.

At the end of the day the fight went to a split and a lot of folk on here believed that Oscar won and the fight was pretty good, so i don't see the problem with a rematch.

I don't agree with those who say Oscar is done. Sure he's been inactive and he's promoting more than he's fighting but he stil absolutely brutalised Mayorga and then took Mayweather to a split. I'm looking forward to it anyway.

I dont know why everyone is so strongly against this fight, its not like the first was a whitewash or anything. Oscar gave Mayweather more problems than most people could and is probably one of the few people in the world with even a chance of beating him.
I really hope this fight happens and I'll be cheering for De La Hoya all the way.

As for all the people who are saying they have no interest and wouldnt even watch the rematch - well thats just bullshit isnt it? How can a boxing fan not watch the pound for pound best fighter in the sport today fight an all time great like Oscar?

If the first fight was something like Holyfield vs Lewis I, Morales vs Pcaquiao II and III, etc. Then yeah, I would also be like "Who would really want to see that fight again?!" But Oscar and Floyd were pretty close, no wonder it was a split and still many boxing experts comment on how the fight could have been Oscar's. There are more fights out there from Floyd that even if he doesn't KO the guy he convincingly shows that he deserved the decision. His fight against Oscar simply doesn't.

I'll say that the guys that have caused more trouble or given more challenge to Floyd so far has been Jose Luis Castillo I (which many boxing experts think Castillo got robbed) and ODLH.

Cotto vs Floyd? That is a fight I wouldn't really want to watch. It would just be another decision for Floyd, maybe even a KO.

CC Ono i feel the same way about DLH and CC Beer Jelly cos I would love to see a rematch.

I actually really enjoyed the first fight..ok not alot happened but take the factors into consideration..the weight,PBF wasn't about to trade to toe was he? And DLH's Gameplan and problem of fading down the stretch, what were you expecting?

And I feel DLH could take the rematch...If he keeps the Jab up...he could have so easily have got the decision if he kept that jab going in the last rounds.

I actually did not think the first fight was close at all, and I don't think this fight is at all winnable for Oscar. His problem wasn't that he abandoned the jab; it was that HE DIDN'T LAND ANYTHING. He's not going to be able to change that.

That said, I don't really mind this fight, and I'm not remotely surprised that it's happening. This should make it all the more clear to Cotto and Williams that they're not getting a Floyd fight this year, and that they need to fight each other. I have no doubt that Floyd will take the winner of that fight after he beats Oscar again.

But here's my question: will PBF/DLH take place at 147 or 154?? Oscar's been saying ever since the last fight that he's coming back down to welter. But if he actually does that, he has even less of a chance to win.

It's not a question of if oscar will loose, but how bad this time. Horrible match up there are tons of people both of these guys could and should be fighting instead.

I totally agree i didn't think the fight was close either, i had Mayweather clearly winning by 3 or 4 rounds. If the rematch does go through then Mayweather should make ODLH follow his demands this time.

I totally disagree not a lot of people on here had ODLH only a few did, and when they watched it again and see how many punches ODLH missed they quickly changed there mind. And just because the fight was SD doesn't mean it was razor thin close which it wasn't, And you say ODLH knows what he has to do to win this time but what is that exactly ?? the jab ?? that won't be as effective this time because Mayweather will counter his jab with counter right hands over the top like he did last time later in the fight, only this time he will do it earlier in the fight, plus Mayweather has countered over his opponent's jab's through out his whole career, thats one of the reason's ODLH become cautious with his jab. Pressure fighting ?? that won't work either ODLH has never been a great pressure fighter and even when ODLH pressed the action he landed hardly any punches, Mayweather has dealt with all types of pressure fighting so i can't see how ODLH can win that way either, out boxing Mayweather ?? not a chance in hell so explain to me how ODLH can win this fight ??

if this fight pulls through floyd is wasting his chance to be remember as an all time great fighter. this fight will just prove his greed for the green not his hunger for greatness.

i like floyd as a fighter, his very skilled but this is the reason why i'll never like him as much as i like guys like pac, pavlik, and cotto. floyd just keeps carrying that bad ora of hand picker for me and now he is looking more greedy then ever.

i thought the first fight was close but i think floyd is the type that will always be a lot better in any rematch which means if this fight pulls through it will be a clear u.d. And im sure, majority of the fans that will buy into this rematch will only be into it in hope for an oscar win so when it does end, people will feel robbed and dissapointed cause im sure floyd will beat oscar up worst then before.

Just like Pac's rematch with an old Mab in which MAB lost his previous fight to JMM but Pac fought him anyway even tho the 1st fight was a total mismatch and he TKO'D Barrera... That is blatant hypocrisy
