Default Devon Alexander, he seems like something special

I'm surprised he has been mentioned among the prospects, he has great fundamentals, he has lightning speed, he is trained in the same gym as Spinks, he's 20, and he's totally outclassed Demarcus Corley(which isn't saying a whole lot these days, but still at 20). To boot he has a very solid amateur career. This kid looks like a the real deal and a potential top 10 p4p in the future, if he has the chin and the heart to go along with his skills.

Absolutely Taeth - saw him on the Jones/Trinidad undercard and he looked the goods. Slick mover, nice combinations. He didn't look overawed by things at all even though it was a big step up in class...

I've had the opp. to see Devons last 6 fights and he keeps getting better.

I thought he should have finished off Corely. For some reason I didn't see Devon really sit on his punches and when he did catch Corely he didn't follow it up. I wish Devon would have pressed forward a little more.
The kids got very good hand speed and his footwork is excellent.

I hope we can one day see Paulie vs. Devon in the future. What a tactical mathcup that would be.

I just hope he continues to get slicker which I am sure he will... he reminds me a lot of Floyd though not quite as fast, and he doesn't quite hit as hard(p4p), but if he continues to improve his defense, and he learn to box against the stronger guys the sky is the limit.

He was Boxing News's hot prospect a few weeks back I think, looks a good one for the future. Win over 'Chop Chop' is impressive considering he is only 20.

For some reason I haven't seen this guy much, I remember a while back early in his career him being really hyped up and then (at least for me) he kind of fell of the radar.

His brother's a prospect too right? He any good?

Alexander has a lot of potential, but he does have a lot of room for improvement. He moves straight ahead too much, and as a result he smothers his own punches.

If he wants to truly be a slick southpaw, he needs to learn how to fight standing upright, and learn how to take a step back and counter. Right now all he does is move forward, and he's not a big enough puncher to always come forward.

I wouldn't go that far but he certainly is one of the best prospects out there at the moment. He has a good jab put his combos together well, but he didn't really seem to have any real power on his punches, he had Corley gone quite a few times in that fight and i thought he could have stopped him. But certainly one the watch out for the future.
