    Default Juan Manul Lopez Statement

While many were focused on Klitchko-Ibragimov, I had my attention on the Juan Manuel Lopez-Jonathan Oquendo fight. "Juanma" looked devastating in defeating a top prospect as Oquendo. He definitely has the skill AND the power to be a champion at super bantamweight. I think he can take on de Leon now and ibox circles around him and in about a year should challenge Vazquez/Marquez, and the other top names at 122.

I hope we can count Juanma among our WC very soon. He has to be very careful with De Leon who has a lot of power. But, if he makes an intelligent fight, I believe he has chances of winning, even by TKO.

Lopez is an outstanding prospect. But I think he suffers the same fate Rey Bautista did if they put him in with De Leon right now

i think i remember seeing this guy like a year or two ago but havent heard much from him since. He is a bit impressive and at the time when i first saw him. I already thought by now he'd have his name out there with the big boys of the batamweight.

Lopez was awesome... the way he handled top prospect Jonathan Oquendo with ease. After watching the whole fight card, which was very good, I watched the Klitschko fight (which I had TVO'ed)... and promptly put myself to sleep.

Lopez has no business right now stepping in a ring with PDL. The kids got a future and if he want's to be sucessful he needs to mature his game and keep stepping up in class of opponents.
JuanMa needs to fight some of these guys before challenging for a title.

    Genaro Garcia
    Mike Oliver
    Kiko Martinez
    Fernando Beltran Jr.

I would like to see JuanMa fight Takalani Ndlovu to see how he handles a World Class opponent.

If you haven't seen much of Lopez, he has a lot going for him as a boxer:

    1. He is a southpaw.
    2. He has a great jab.
    3. He has power in BOTH hands.
    4. He has speed.
    5. He has great defense/elusiveness.
    6. He has an extensive amateur career.
    6. He has been in there with tough guys (I compare his competition to the way Cotto was brought up, but of course, on a lesser scale).

Someone like de Leon, whose wide punches, though powerful, can be seen from a mile away, will get beaten to the punch every single time, and with Lopez's power, suffer a great deal of punishment. So Arum should just continue to raise Juanma's level of competition and keep bringing him along. He has the goods-he's no fluke!!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Lopez by first round Knockout.
