    Default Outrage, disgust, Anger,

I can't express the range of emotions I went through at the moment I discovered that the impending third fight in the Israel Vasquez vs. Rafael Marquez saga, is not going to be televised in Europe.

This fight is not onle one of the most hotly anticipated fights in Boxing today, it is also one of those rare fights in which one can predict what is going to happen. ACTION!

I feel that this situation highlights the greed of our television suppliers. They would like to have us believe that they are accomodating us boxing fans with their coverage, but in truth they are only accomodating us with fights they are confident they can sell. This fight is hinderedc in marketability only by the size of the two men, in no other aspect are they any lesser than any other man. In fact, these two between them may have more heart, tenacity and aggression than the rest of boxing oput together when they are allowed face off against each other....

    I am Disgusted! Absolutley outraged!!!

I was pretty pissed off when I found out this as well. The amount of people that would have stayed up to watch this and they decided against buying it. I was telling Gamo this before...but it's difficult to complain nowadays as we're getting more boxing than we've had in the last 3 years.

Boxing is fucked from every angle right now though. I read the metro this morning to say them taking the piss about Floyd being part of Wrestlmania and Evander asking for a third fight with Tyson. Over here, the media sees boxing as a dying sport (other than Hatton), which really fucks me off.

We're in 2008 for fucks sake, and I'm unable to watch one of the best fights in the world in the sport I love on one of the many hundreds of channels full of shit I have. I'm begging HBO to start selling their channel to the rest of the world.

I dont really feel the Outrage, disgust, Anger of others because I know nobody cares about boxing, and it would probably just be us guys on the forum in the UK watching it.

Sucks badly but thats the truth isnt it.

    From a bitter fan..

See thats is were I disagree. 50,000 people travelled to the US to watch Hatton. De La Hoya-Mayweather was watched by many people on Sky and Setanta has invested alot of money in boxing. In fact it's hard to find a weekend were there is no boxing on. Eurosport was showing a live french welterweight title fight the other night for fucks sake!

    Has secondsout.com bought it?

But there's interest out there and from a business point of view there is serious money in this!

Now my mates would not have a clue who israel vasquez or rafael marquez are and would not in the slightest be interested in watching a fight between them. But if they knew how much of a war this fight was, if they saw the previous two fights if they were educated they would be excited about it.

Thats the great thing about boxing. Unlike other sports even if your not a fan you can still get excited about, watch and enjoy a great boxing match.

My point is if sky sports here in the UK instead of showing the drivel that fills a lot of the channels time showed proper build up to these fights and educated people not only would they want to watch it but I bet they would be willing to pay for it as well.

What is happening tonight is not just of interest to fans, it is absolute top quality, top draw entertainment. The unfortunate thing is nobody knows about it.
