Darnell "Ding-A-Ling Man" Wilson, author of the 2007 ESPN.com knockout of the year against Emmanuel Nwodo, will challenge titleholder Firat Arslan (28-3-1, 18 KOs) in Germany on May 3.

Crazy how guys coming off a loss can get a title shot. He probably earned a shot with his run last year. I know nothing about this Arslan guy, they probably saw something in the Wilson-Flores fight they could exploit.

Hey, who cares if Wilson is coming off a loss, at least one German champion is fighting a solid contender who will make a fight of it. Haven't seen Arslan fight, but Wilson should be a bit more of a handful than a 60 year old Virgil Hill.. Not a bad first defence at all imo, especially when you compare it to what his countrymen Sturm and Abraham have been doing.

Arslan is a bit like Andrade...not the most talented or the biggest puncher,but tough with an always forward pressing style...nice guy actually,started boxing with 18 years...

BTW...if Arslans manager would know in which high regards you hold Wilson he might not have chosen the same for Arslan first defense...

This should be an exciting fight! Both guys won't be to hard to find. Wilson will always be in it with his power but I think Arslan will be able to box him at times to win more rounds. This is a really good match-up IMO. Credit to Arslan for giving Wilson the opportunity!

Yeah, I honestly know nothing about Arslan but hearing that this matchup was made I assumed he'd be more of a stick and move type, and that they were using Wilson's last fight as a blueprint.. Even more credit to the guy then, if he's going to have to fight Darnell toe to toe.
