    Default Glen Johnson's rant

    What do you guy's think?
It all came out last night finally for Glen Johnson about the bullshit desicion's against him past years.Although I could see how Dawson won that fight but by scores of 116-112 if some people don't know that is 8 rounds to 4.You show me were Chad Dawson took 8 rounds from Glen.I mean I could see 115-113 but to tell me that Johnson only won the rounds in which he had Dawson sensless is ridiculous.Pressure makes fight's if Johnson hadn't have put pressure on him we would not have had a fight and Johnson is right in being angry because now Dawson will not fight him again.Maybe Tarver will have a third fight with him and at this state with both men climbing in age in could be a great fight and a great trilogy.

Johnson is a great fighter and should make the HOF. At least 7 of his 12 losses should have gone his way. He really lost out on millions of dollars that were ripped from his hands by the judges. Im happy he said what everyone was thinking last night, because in truth these things happen all the time in boxing to fighters who entertain us to feed their families. Johnson fought like it was a must win fight and thats just what he did imo. 116-112 all for Dawson is not justifyable.

8 to 4 verses 7 to 5. That is only a one round difference.

Johnson didn't get robbed; he lost a close fight.

The rant was touching because no doubt he's been on the bad end of a lot of close/bullshit decisions in his career.

But despite what he thinks, he wasn't robbed IMO. Most people had Dawson winning 7-5 (thats what I had) and I have yet to see many people who feel Johnson won. It was a close compeditive fight, and Johnson fought like the warrior he is, but Dawson put too many of the early and mid rounds in the bank for him to steal it in the end IMO.

Still my heart goes out to Johnson, who is one of the classiest, toughest and hardest working guys in boxing. I really would have liked to see Johnson get some more time in the sun, but Dawson proved that he could take a punch and has heart.

    Are you kidding?

Dawson proved he could take a punch and has heart?

Dawson was backing off or clinching when he was hurt, he cant go toe to toe without getting rocked.

He has a very negative style of boxing and the crowd were booing him all night long.

If anything i think this fight proved corruption in boxing, that was johnsons fight by a round, at best a draw.

Dawson never hurt johnson one bit, yet dawson was rocked on two occasions in that fight, once where i thought he was going down except managed to clinch and then back off.

Im not impressed with dawson at all, tarver will beat him, hopkins would cast him aside.

But im hoping calzaghe carries everything upto light heavy because i want to see calzaghe beat hopkins and then fae dawson.

I think if calzaghe carries upto supermiddle like the true champ he is (thats the test for calzaghe to prove), then he will school dawson.

Dawson has comparitiveyl poor power compared with the other top guys in the division and probably the worst chin out of the other top guys.

Not impressed, as soon as he fights a real quality opponent the guys going down.

I thought it was hilarious when Johnson said "Everybody watching HBO saw it". Guy was on ShowTime.

It's not that simple by any means though... Johnson completely dominated 4 rounds, had Dawson badly hurt in 3, I had him winning 7 and beating Chad. I just think the fight was razor thin with Glen doing almost all of the damage, for every judge to have Dawson winning comfortably is garbage imo, especially since Johnson took the last 3.

Im going to watch this fight again as i wern't really scoring it when i watched the fight, but the impression i got was that it was a draw or no more than 2 points in it either way. I thought Dawson turned the fight around big time in the middle rounds as he out boxed Johnson, but Johnson come on strong and for certain won the later rounds. It basically depends on how many rounds you gave Dawson in the early going.

johnson won. watch the fight again and you'll see that johnson blocked most of dawsons punches with his elbows and gloves.

I guess my point being is he had Dawson out of it in those four rounds. For a judge not see him win another round is insane.
