A myth is that the term "Pound for pound" was invented for Sugar Ray Robinson.

It may have been more popularized when he came along, but other guys had been called it before. Tony Canzoneri, Mickey Walker, Bob Fitzsimmons, etc..

I owe you some rep when I can. Thanks for the link. I can never decide whether to love or hate Leonard for being such a smart business man and manager of his career. He was the master of spotting weakness, in or out of the ring. I grudgingly respect him for it.
