Okay so Mick is worried about Margarito not watching his weight. Letting himself go, looking old and flabby. I think he is a boxercondriac. Margarito isn't a fighter that is going to pull out of fights like some of these supposed injuries we hear of...and such.


But i was worried if Diane or someone had picture from this week to compare. I have the Margarito is fat in the suit theory, just wondered.

The last one I have of him is in Puerto Rico last Friday, I have it saved at home, so I'll post it when I get home tonight. He's just wearing a dress shirt in that pic, and if I remember correctly, I think his face still looked a little heavy.

I'll look around to see if I can find anything more current.

I don't think that Margarito put on any real weight that should cause anyone to worry. His body still looked slim, as it always does, he just looked a little heavy in the face, it's no big deal, and I don't think it will be an issue.

I don't think Margarito would be too heavy for this fight. If anything he will make sure he comes in just at 147 lbs to make sure he is strong as possible. I have seen some of the pictures where people think he is heavy but many of them are where he is standing next to Miguel Cotto. People forget that Margarito has 4" inches in height and about a 6 inch reach advantage over Cotto. Also Tony has not been under the welterweight limit in about 12 years. Just a naturally bigger guy all around.

I am very excited about this fight. This has the 1980's Ray Leonard Vs Tommy Hearns or Tommy Hearns Vs Roberto Duran appeal to it. I will take watching this over De La Hoya Vs Mayweather any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Is it possible that we just haven't paid this much attention before to what Margarito looks like in the months before one of his fights? Since this is his biggest fight.

Margarito will probably come in close to 160 during fight night and Cotto will come in at about 153. Tony will have plenty of advantages in his favor. We shall see if his loss to Williams was his wake up call. I am hoping Miguel times Tony's slow ass and check Tony's chin often enough to earn some respect. I can't wait for this fight. I wonder where Majesty is who kept saying Cotto was not fighting the tough competition of his division. Too bad for Tony but he is like Jason, and he shall bounce back from his 6th career loss and win another belt from some of the lower tier fighters. Cotto #1, Tony has to go for the scarps and crumbs Miguel does not want. BTW, JT Rock, I wonder who Floyd fears more, Cotto or Margarito? No doubt he will fear the winner of this match July 26th. Get ready to hear Floyd make yet another annoucement about him retiring.

Honestly I dont think he fears either Danny, Floyd wants to be a superstar out of the ring, He is hands down the best and even you have admitted it.

The line as Fighter and Hollywood star is blurred for Floyd now or so it seems... Floyd has always come into a fight 100% focused and prepared mentally and physically, and has NEVER had a lapse in the ring or moment of lost control or focus.I am 10000000000000000000000000000000% confident that after he TKO'S Oscar in the fall he will do the right thing, Whomever wins between Tony and Miguel will have created enough stardom and public appeal for a match and thats all Floyd has been waiting for.

Also the montage of Elbows you highlighted from the Hatton fight, should tell you Floyd aint takin shiit from anyone and has a meanstreak

For me this is just all talking , Margarito and his Team know how danger is Cotto , they would try to establish respect and test Cottos chin , but they know that this try will cost a Real Price , i dont think that Margarito will Risk the fight making the brutality like Cintron did with him , if he really want win , Cotto is more smart , cautious and know when to carry out his plan or strategies...................

I just thought he looked a wee bit heavier then usual for his in between fight weight. His face looked heavy to me in those pics. I saw....
I've seen him in between fights matter a fact I saw him prior to his fight with Williams and he did not look heavy at all.

I never doubted him making weight, what I brought up last week was that he looked heavier then usual and if maybe he was planning on using his size to his advantage or as a strategy to beat Cotto.
