I've asked him a few times in responding to some of his posts, he's never explained it.

I'm wondering myself, he always says it and then puts something in brackets, he then finishes off with an "Ey Ey"

I have heard that the term originated from a Welsh mine in the 1860's and the miners would refer to their livelihood which not only provided money but the security of food. And thus the words job and biscuit quite naturally became obvious collocations for those particular people. I can only assume that Otley is in some way the distant relative of someone in this particular mining community and that the term has been passed on generation by generation.

It just sounds to me like the working man's equivalent of a woman's tea time natter or coffee house talk. The kind of thoughts and chats that men might have with each other on their work break over a biscuit.
