Berto has good handspeed good power and a decent jab, but he is too wild at times, and neglects going to the body plus he is far too leaky defense wise. And unlike Cotto he isn't really improving, forgetting the title holders at 147 im not even sure if he could beat fighters like Cintron, Clottley etc.

Isn't the old saying that when you win the title you automatically become 25 percent better fighter ?? i hope that happens to Berto he is raw but he has a lot of talent and he can improve, but sadly i haven't seen any real improvements but hopefully he does improve soon. I think Berto could be a force at 154 though.

Yea ICB , he will going to improve now , when fight with a good opponents , but dont get me wrong guys , he know that need to improve soon for impress and demostrate that he can be the ones of good WW class.........................

If he does in fact win, which I believe he will. He would be put in a dangerous position everyone at 147 would be targetting him.

I brought it up last week, before the Wbc decided what they were gonna do it was gonna be an eliminator or a vacant title fight.... Now we have confirmation...

I am a huge Berto fan, hopefully he thrives with this opportunity

Berto is a call guy. I met him at Pechanga Casino right after beat the shit out of that German dude. He smiles at everybody and we fist pound before he sat 2 rows behind me. That was cool. He's a very down to earth person.

I hope he wins his next fight.

Cotto or Margo would bully Berto in the ring. Imo, Andre Berto is the Juan Diaz version of welterweight. Right now, I don't think he can handle pressure from any elite fighter.

Don't really see the comparison between Diaz and Berto, Diaz is a swarmer because he has to be based on his physical disadvantages plus Diaz is a pretty weak puncher unlike Berto, there two completely different fighters, and Diaz lost to Campbell based on Campbell's slickness and counter punching skill.

A win does put berto in a whole different bracket overnight. I like this guy and liked the way he was progressing.
