"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
From what I've read about him, his was a pretty sad story. The mob ran his career and got him to be champion allegedly with alot of fixed fights. When he lost to Baer they dropped him and left him broke. He went into pro wrestling and made some decent money at that.
From things ive watched and read ive always heard him being refered to as a "manafactured" champ.....I think history looks at him the way we look at nicolay valuev...He's so big he'll beat any bum but put him in there with someone who actually can box and he'll get his ass handed to him.

They took advantage of Carnera even worse than they later did with Ali, Louis and Tyson

He did what he had to to survive. He was far from a hero as if he was he wouldn't have been part of some of the most blatantly fixed fights in history... Of course no one knows all the particulars so I will not pass to much judgement.
I mean, I'd watch it to see what they had to say about him but would walk out once they started pontificating about him being a great hereo...
Baer, a fighter in his own right but not one of the greats DESTROYED Primo... and I'm not talking about just seeing Cinderella Man... I watched all the knockdowns on ESPN Classic an was astonished he kept getting up.
I have also seen footage of fixed fights where he barely layed a hand on the opponant and dropped him like a bad habit.
Whatever... Like I said, I'd watch it for posterity purposes
