Daniel Santos Can't See How Margarito Beats Cotto - Boxing News

I feel like it's a good toss up fight but what I do I know. I'm not the one who's fought Tony twice and probably sparred with Cotto on numerous occasions.

I agree with that, Margarito is a good tough fighter but he has proved in the past he can be out boxed and that is exactly what Cotto will do to him, Margarito is a tough guy and will probably hear the final bell but as for winning I just can't see it

I expect Cotto to win by UD. If he wins by TKO, it would be probably due to a cut, but as Margarito is very strong I don't see him finishing on the floor. I give my vote to Cotto because he is faster, with more technique, can also punch (probably harder and more effectively than Margarito), not to mention how well he has adapted to 147. Margarito surely is strong, but he is also slow. Cotto has be very busy on the fight boxing and punching. I think that Cotto has to alternate his strategy during the fight being the boxer at some points and the aggressor at other points. He has to make Margarito respect him on the ring.

Danny has fought twice to Margarito so he is someone who can make a good analysis. I am also wishing him (Danny) success is his July 11 title fight with Joachim Alcine at Canada. Danny has a very good career wining titles at 147 and 154, but unfortunately he has not have the success that he wants due to long inactivity periods. And, here we go again with the problems with promoters, the big winners in boxing.

Hey Bx730NY , good Article man......... , You got it..........
Well Santos is certainly right , some peoples keep saying that Margaro always put pressure , have a dangerous uppercut , that is true , but Cotto will prepare for everything that Margaro could bring to the fight....

Margo will win this fight. He shows me that he can last through tough fights. His punches have a what I call- a dead weight thud thud thud affect to them. Citron understands that very well. Paul Williams do too even though I think Margo lose that fight 7 to 5. Cotto must be a sharp shooter and if Margo can hold his defense tight through the first couple of rounds I see Margo hitting him with all types of Garbage Man punches. Thud Thud Thud and down goes Cotto in the 10th round. Great battle I see but Cotto and Citron will have something else in common. Down goes Cotto, Down goes Cotto. And the winner be KO and NEW. U get my point. See U on fight Night.
