Default Amir Khan Looks To Pacquiao, Diaz After Gomez Victory

Amir Khan Looks To Pacquiao, Diaz After Gomez Victory

Knock down after knock down. In the first round of this fight the former British super featherweight champion was knocked to the canvas. As he was celebrating his birthday, Gomez did not give in and got up again to come back to smash his opponent to the ground with a left hook in the second round.

Gomez began to tire out in the fifth round as blood was pouring from his face, and he had been knocked to one knee. When the fight was stopped by the referee, John Keane, he expressed disappointment, although he looked quite relieved that he could now stop taking the hammering that Amir Khan was giving him. The fight was stopped As Gomez was not responding to a battering up against the ropes.

Amir Khan is still unbeaten in 18 fights and will most probably be a world champion, but not in the very near future. Gomez had also shown what skill he has, and that he can get back up after a serious knock down.

Amir Khan thinks that he could fight the winner of next weeks Davis Diaz – Manny Pacquiao fight. Amir Khan also believes that he can be world champion by the end of this year, “And, by the end of the year, I’m not just going to be one of the main men, I’m going to the number one, and everyone’s going to be after me”. Amir Khan also sees himself as one of the top boxers now, and that he could beat either David Diaz, or Manny Pacquiao “Diaz and Pacquiao are both great fighters, but I’m confident that I could beat both of them”. This would be a great fight to see, and also with the Pacquiao – Diaz fight this coming weekend.

However I strongly doubt whether Amir Khan could beat P4P King Pacman. Perhaps in a year or two, but if they fought next week, Manny would knock Khan out without a problem in my opinion!

Pac fans if your boy ever fights Khan i'll be rooting for your boy in this one. I predict Pacquiao by KO within 4 rounds.

    This is a weird article.

Some of it sounds like it was written by Khan himself, but then edited by someone going..."You're taking it abit far...dontcha think?"

And then they tag on their own thoughts on the end.

Why doesn't Amir Khan fight Alex Arthur, that would make more sense.

I don't suggest Khan fighting Pac yet. He will be like Boom-boom Bautista who was TKOed in the first round by De Leon.

I think Frank Warren was back tracking a lot yesterday. Recently it's been 'one more fight' now after last night it was 'no rush' and a 'few more fights'.

He seems to lack some belief in Amir after yesterday.

I think Warren is just protecting his investment.

He's stil a prospect. At the end of the day in about 5 years we are going to have several world champions who only have half the talent and potential (at the moment) that Amir has.

I really don't see why they need to rush him. I say they wait until he's 23/24, that way he can reign for longer as we will have matured properly.

I agree theres no way Khan could beat the Pacman at the moment "No way!"Dont get me wrong i like Khans boxing skills he's really fast no dought! But his chin and he's defence is a bit suspect to say the least.Gomez left hook that took down Khan in the 2nd round was'nt even fully extended.Just amagine if he fully caught him flush.....Light out!!!!!
