Default Cotto V Margarito Who Will Win And How?

I'm really looking forward to the upcoming bout between welterweights Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito. I really can see a legendary boxing match become a brawl if need be. My opinion is that Cotto will take a hard fought decision against the iron chinned Margarito but was wondering how everyone else sees this one going.

I see Spicoli Surfs Nawlins walking around with a funny name for a week, and a hard fought battle that will be majorly entertaining and a late TKO stoppage in say the 10th or 11th in favor of Cotto due to Margo's liver been turned to mush, thus slowing him and setting up a barrage that will force the stop..

I must admit though, if the fight is half as good as I hope/expect it, and Margo does manage to pull off a win...I shall have a goofy name, but not be overly ashamed to wear it...for I truly do like both fighters.

Yep my thoughts exactly. Cotto is pretty devastating to the body and as long as he doesnt make any huge mistakes i think thats how it will go.

    Hopefully its competitive and exciting.

I think Cotto will put Margarito down at least once but I think Toni is too tough to be KO'd....I respect both fighters for taking this fight they are both dangerous this reminds me of something like Arguello-Pryor.

Cotto is the better boxer, Cotto has the better ability to impliment his gameplan, and Cotto just plain old beats people up.

Toni is tough but he's not a very good technical boxer, he gives up his advantages in height and reach and his long arms will allow Cotto to fire quick shots on the inside.

Look for the uppercut from Cotto to be a big factor in the fight, it's a natural way to follow the left hook to the body he's so fond of throwing

Well so far there are 8 votes each one way or another. Strange thing was I thought that Cotto was going in with more of the reputation for being the puncher but I see that more people have gone for a Toni KO win than a Cotto one. Or is this based on the iron chin of Toni rather than the punch power?

More for me seeing Tony smile when Cintron hit him on numerous occasions with that huge right hand. We all know Cintron can hit like a mule; and I don't see Cotto delivering that kind of power. A body shot yes, head hunt Tony and Cotto will be in for the duration IMO.

This is Cotto's chance to show the world the all-around boxing ability he possesses. If you are a Cotto fan, you know he can't go in there and slug it out with Margarito. If Cintron couldn't KO Margarito (and Kermit landed basically at will with power shots), then Cotto will not so easily. I just hope Cotto's detractors will not criticize him when he decisions Margarito in a brilliant boxing display. In boxing, good fighters have a plan "b" when plan "a" doesn't work and for Cotto, plan "a" will not work before he even steps in the ring!! The problem I had with Trinidad (as much as he thrilled me) is that there was never a plan "B." I believe Cotto has the boxing IQ to display a plan "b" or "c" if necessary. He's no robot. Ask Judah.

I cant think that this fight will end just by UD , they both are gladiators , hit hard , one of them will put first the respect and who make the first mistake , is who will have more problem...............
To me this fight will end by KO or UD , i know Margaro is strong , have good uppercut , good resistance in making pressure , but Cotto will comes in tremendous physical shape for give a great fight , everybody has been commenting that Cotto will outbox Margaro and he will win by UD , we have to understand that Cotto is smaller than Margaro , so obviously he in the first 5-6 rounds will have to fight most of time inside , working to the body and counter punching to wear out Margaro a bit for then outbox Margaro and dominate all others round by stoppage or UD , we have to have in our mind that probably Margaro could take use his reach and outbox Cotto in this fight , something odds in him , but Margaro Team know that they cant risk completely in making a brawl with Cotto , Cotto has the advantage , if Margaro try in give everything very fast , Cotto by KO........................

This fight could looks like :
    Cotto vs Kelson Pinto
    Cotto vs Victoriano Sosa
    Cotto vs N`Dou
Boxers more taller than Cotto and some similar Margaro Styles...........

I'm still up in the air on this one......but i just choose margarito cause i'm not really sure how cotto is going handle tony's punch and the amount of them he throws. If he truly got rid of the late start bug it might be a hard storm to wheather.

Clottey is faster and better defensively than Cotto. Cotto can box, but his main weapon is his power, which will be neutralized by Tony's chin. I think this fight is a toss up.
