Default A trick that might help ya...

Most fighters would like to avoid breaking their noses at all costs (except of course staying out of the ring). Also, some guys have a real problem with their eyes watering when they take one in the nose.

I've been hit square in the nose, been caught sideways on the nose... I've been hit in the nose in every possible way and my eyes have never watered, and my nose has never even hurt the next day. Here is what I do.

I play with cartilage in my nose. At first it will be stiff like it's bone. Move it side to side, pushing it a little past its threshold each day. Push it down flat as well. Just do this when you're watching tv or just laying around, there is no need for this to be an inconvenience. Your nose will still look the same as it did before you started to play with it. However, the cartilage will move freely when pushed (or punched). It becomes flexible and moves with the punch. Also... you shouldn't experience any eye watering.

    Hope this helps you guys!

i do have my doubts about this.
cuz when a punch lands on a nose and breaks it.
it is the bone that breaks, and this wont get flexible when you "play"with your nose.
and the eye watering only appeared the first few times when i got hit on the nose, so i think you just have to get used to it.

This definitely won't help the bone part of your nose. The bone is fair game.

I have seen the cartilage get separated from the bone, and though that may not be as bad as the actual bone breaking, it's still no good. And this is usually the part of the nose that hurts the next day I find... where the cartilage and bone meet.

It's worth a try... worse case scenario is you got flexible cartilage that you can gross your friends out with. And it may just help you out as it has me.

listen to the man, it can hardly hurt. however i would like to confirm, the reason you havent had your nose broken is either because the people hitting it dont punch hard/accurately enough, or your a lucky bastard.
i have had my nose broken, so i know about this shit.

also your eyes watering is natural, you are applying a direct shock to a bone linked closely to your sinuses.
you force the bone inoto the skull, vibrating around your tear ducts which sets them off.
i can imagine training your cartalige could act as a shock absorber...

I broke my nose in my first ever sparring session, my nose was a big enough target and bridge of my nose is hard. But what it did was improve my defence more than any training or words could do, because I didn't want that s*** again

Larry, please ban this guy 'returnoframpage'. He's the same guy as 'Cold Stone Jeek Bolivian'. He's a notorious troll with hundreds of accounts on many boards and ruins the internet. BAN HIM.

Nose injuries is my biggest weakness! It nearly makes me sick when I see guys get nose injuries (even thinking about it). I have no problems getting hit in the chin, cheek or eyes but NOT MY NOSE

Also, a friend said that when he broke his, he had it bent back into place and was the most painful thing he has ever encountered. Is this true?

And this may sound like a stupid question but does it hurt and how badly does it hurt when you break your nose off a punch? (if u compare it to something) I'm really curious.

I'm taking up boxing, whether I fight or just train, I dont know, but if I do fight I will always guard my nose and make sure i take the punches on the chin or elsewhere........and probably get knocked the f**k out lol.

I've never suffered a nose injury personally.

I'm lucky because my nose isn't very big at all, and it doesn't stick out much either. And I took care of the cartilage part before I even stepped foot in the ring.

From what I have seen... it looks damn painful lol.

I fractured my nose playin football last year. I had to get it popped back to place in an operation. I asked the docter afterwards how he did it and he said he scraped bits of it out with a chsel and then snapped it n place. Nearly fainted. Now theirs a lump on it the size of a golfball. Alway's protect your nose!!!!!!!
