This should be interesting.
I've never heard of Andy Kolle.

boooo no chris vs david....gay
i was really hopeing for that fight too, wonder why tua didnttake the fight i think he needs it
mind over speed and power
What the FUCK?
Andy Kolle, the same one who Andre Ward with about 6 fights beat him soundly, the same Kolle who just went life and death vs. Vanda?
Can I ask why?
My mistake I just checked and Andre Ward had 8 fights not 6...![]()
Talk about poor management and bad decision by Williams after all he has a saying in who he fights.
I mean come on at least pick a Middleweight that at least people are somewhat familiar with and or have seen.
Enrique Ornelas
Marco A. Rubio
David Lopez
Brian Vera
Koren Ghevor
Miguel A. Espino
How about Jantuha what's he up to these days.
Get Joey Gilbert in there... Oooops! wait a minute, nevermind he's uuummm busy.![]()
what the hell is this...
Williams has beat Margarito, and avenged his loss, he is hot right now.. why waste time in the prime of your career fighting fights like this ?
Thats cricket
Even for a tune up, this sounds ridiculous. But it will still be interesting to see Williams at MW.
Not related to this thread as such, but if you didnt know already, you might find it interesting Mick. Khoren Gevor is fighting Amin Asikainen next. It's for the vacant EBU belt (that Amin held before losing to Sylvester last year).
Surely their must be someone he can fight at 147.
Surely theres another more recognizable name he can fight at Middle....
See the thing is Mick is that this fight isn't really an important one the way you think its just a fight just to see if Paul Williams can handle the weight while keeping all of his attributes Paul Williams will for certain fight the big names at Middleweight if he looks impressive Paul Williams isn't the kind of fighter to duck opponents.
I perfectly understand what the fight is about trust me kid, I know.
Still there are more recognizable names out there he could have fought.
Brian Veras gotten exposure with his win over Lee.
Why not Vera? Def. more recognizable then Kolle and it's not like Veras this HUGE threat to Paul.
I understand what your saying and i agree but i just think there playing safe because say if Paul Williams did indeed get in trouble against one of the better Middleweights would he be able to withstand it and would his legs hold up or etc ?
Two weightclasses is alot to move up too and i have no problem with this fight aslong as Paul Williams fights one of the top 8 Middelweights if he looks impressive in this one as he should but i for certain agree about Brian Vera he would of been good choice IMO.
Someone help me understand this, as I am confused.
He is fighting Andy Kolle to maybe test the waters a bit; but why was he so gung-ho to get in with Pavlik? Wasn't there a serious chance that Williams was going to get a shot at Pavlik a few weeks ago; or he and his camp were making noise about it? If he thought he was ready for Kelly, who's at the top, why would he need to tread water in the shallow end in fighting Kolle? Or was that alot of nonsense about him wanting to fight Kelly? Just curious.
True True, but Andy Kolle is still a bit of a weak choice, even for a gimme fight. I guess he must have improved since the Ward fight, since he's on a bit of a winning streak. I can actually understand why he wouldn't want Vera or one of the highly ranked Europeans. I wonder if Elvin Ayala or Miguel Espino would have been available. Those those might have been better real tests, o even see if Sebastian Demers would take a chance to get his career back on track.
