Travis Simms (22-0) and last min replacement Delray"Rainmaker" Raines (14-3)
both weighed 160 at today's weigh in for Saturday's 10 round main event fight at the
Harbor Yard Arena in Bridgeport CT.The older and more experienced Simms(37)
said a few choice words after Raines(22) stepped off the scales ,
But Raines was unmoved and said back to Simms I have been training for this
day for over a solid year and you have have been talking about retiring and
I am going to give you your answer tomorrow night.After the weigh in Raines said I
know I am the under dog and Simms is taking this fight based on his fight
with Buddy McGirt Jr. and that's exactly what I want. Because I have been
sparring guys that would beat Simms and I have been training like a champ ,
I will not be denied this night that I have been preparing for , for so long !

Apparently he's well on his way to becoming accomplished at getting knocked out. Like I said, I wish him luck, but this is a mismatch of epic proportions.

Because he was a pot smoker that did not train back then , in the
last year he has changed his life and wants to show it , He wants the
fight to prove to himself ! He dont care about the people saying
the stuff you are saying , because he knows you are the same people
that will talking him down for not stepping up. He has been ready to
fight tough for 6 or 8 months now ! This is just the first one to
come up and plus the guys he has been beating sparring would beat

He sparred Donovan Castaneda ,Jose Luis Gonzalez and Jesse Feliciano
2 sets of 8 rounds against each fighter in the last 6 months ! And never lost around out of 16 rounds
against any of the 3 ! So I think its a step up from his opponents but something he has been
prepairing for ! But he is a fighter ! And thats what they do ! I don't expect hatters to understand
your not made that way !
