Default With Hopkins fine win over Pavlik, will this be the end for Calzaghe?

Aside from Pavlik I really don't see anyone out there for Joe to beat if he gets past Jones Jr.

His only option would be a rematch with someone he's already beat, Hopkins, Jones or Kessler and I don't think any will appeal.

I really feel if Kelly would have won big last night that a mega showdown between the two could have happened in 2009 but now I think if Joe beats Roy he'll have nothing to carry on for and might call it a day.

For Bernard however I think if he can't get the winner of Calzaghe Jones that he will probably go after Chad Dawson. That would be a great fight imo.

I'd love to see Calzaghe against Chad but the fight makes no real sense from Joe's point of view imo, Dawson isn't a big name at all in the UK, he's naturally bigger, younger, undefeated and in his physical prime. It's too big a risk versus reward for Joe to consider taking that fight imo, it won't happen.

For B Hop though it's a bit different. Obviously Dawson is a far bigger name in America than he is in the UK and the plot would make sense for Bernard.

He's just dethroned the universally recognised and unbeaten middleweight champ 17 years his junior now he could take on the universally recognised and unbeaten light heavyweight champ and try and to the impossible again. I'd love to see the fight and to see how Chad handles the Nard.

This leaves Calzaghe with no options however. In fact if Froch beats Pascal maybe Carl would be the biggest way to finish off for Calzaghe, and I'm certain he wouldn't be interested in that.

So I think it's likely we'll see B Hop face Dawson but that Calzaghe will retire after Roy.

    I hope I'm wrong though...........

No one would want to watch that, it will be a stylistic bore. Joe should retire or rematch with Jones.

Well there is Chad Dawson but i doubt he would take that fight, and the Bernard Hopkins rematch would just be another stylistic nightmare for Joe Calzaghe. I think he will retire if he loses or wins against Roy Jones.

'IF' he beats Jones I can only see one match with a big enough pay day, Calzaghe-Hopkins II. It would have to be in Cardiff thou, so he could say goodbye to his home crowd. No doubt he would retire after that one thou, win or lose.

why would either of them want another fight
hopkins has done fucking amazing in his career and has earnt enough money, and also would of gone out on a great performance,
calzaghe has earnt a lot of money also was p4p no.2 what an achievement he has ruled his division for a good few years, the only reason he would stay on is if he boxes shit agaisnt jones but i think he will have 1 of the best fights of his life ! i hope to

Yeah I think after the Jones match the only "unfinished business" was Pavlik but now hes off radar after last night. Once he beats RJJ I think that'll be all for Joe.
