1. That article is utter shite...
2. Most Mexicans don't hate DLH
3. The few that do is mostly due to him wooping JCC
For example I DISLIKE chavez... Why? Because i wasn't born when Chavez was wooping ass, and got into boxing when DLH was comming up and became a huge fan of him. After his fight with Chavez, Chavez was very mad he lost to DLH that he started walking out with DLH opponents, he started talking bad about him. This IMO lead to some mexicans hatting DLH, and some younger guys like me disliking chavez. All and all i can't really hate the guy because he is mexican, and was a great champion but he needs to get over his damn lost to Oscar... i bet it still haunts him at night.

Young Mexicans hate JCC?? In his prime he would beat ODH bad.

I know a few that hate him because they are huge Oscar fans. Don't get me wrong most love that guy but like i said a few. I would have to disagree with you btw.. I don't see prime Chavez, beating a prime DLH. Oscar was a great boxer like Medrick and we all know he has a hell of a chin so i don't see him being stop, nor being outbox. Remember a middle weight stop Oscar with a bodyshot so don't bring that up.

"Very few people really understand what it means to be a fighter. I hate it when I hear someone say, 'That fighter doesn't have guts. I hate that, I don't care if you're a world champion six times over or a four-round fighter, to step inside that ring, you have to have guts" Oscar De La Hoya
Hey wow... hadn't seen a post from you in awhile. You don't get on much, do you. I remember when I first started on the forum. My first "sad-clicks" for Oscar-bashing were from you. At first I took it personally. Then I realized we're just fans of different fighters, and with VERY different opinions about the same facts. So yeah... I'm a hater, I guess. But usually I'm pretty detailed about my reasons. Maybe not 100% right about all of them, but very passionate about them. But as Yogi Berra would say... boxing is 90% facts and 90% opinions.

De La Hoya doesn't fit the mold of the rugged Mexican fighter, but I think he is popular with Mexican/Americans, if not Mexicans.
I would give a prime JCC the edge over a prime DLH.
