Default Champions with great recuperative powers.

Lets hear about guys who have been knocked down or staggered a number of times but came back strong to hold on to their titles.

Larry Holmes comes to mind, he was in tough a number of times, against Earnie Shavers, Renaldo Snipes, Carl the Truth Williams, but always came back strong.

Against Shavers, I'm still not sure how a managed. Just finished watching again. What a punch. If only Shavers could have picked his shots in the aftermath of that knockdown.

Evander Holyfield = Bert Cooper, Alex Stewart, Riddick Bowe, Michael Dokes.

Matthew Saad Muhammad = Marvin Johnson x2, Yaqui Lopez x2.

Larry Holmes = Mike Weaver, Tim Witherspoon, Earnie Shavers 2, Renaldo Snipes.

Are a few that come to mind.

Juan Manuel Marquez against Manny Pacquiao. He was knocked down three times in round 1 and completely came back. He didn't win the fight, but he was the champion, and since it was a draw he technically retained his title.

Joe Calzaghe has been knocked down a number of times but never seems to fazed by it.
Tito also used to get knocked down a bit but usually got up and won the fight.

Ray Mercer's chin was his best asset.
