Default The size of our galaxy

    According to this article

Surprise! Milky Way Much More Massive - Yahoo! News

the size of the milky way has been recalculated. it is actually
    5,966,760,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000 kilograms

Funny, but I would have thought it was a bit bigger.

I always thought it was 5,966,760,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,053 kg. So I was never too far off.

Who am I trying to kid with that nonsense??

It's kinda strange, all those frigging zeros. To make it ten times bigger all you have to do is add one zero at the end. Doesn't seem right does it?

It is weightless, because weight requires gravity, and I am not aware of anything that exerts gravitational pull on the milky way as a unit.

The more gravity an object is subject to, the more weight it has.

Mass however is a different story. Mass is independant of gravity.

At least I think that's the way it goes, it's been a long time since high school physics.

To sit there and calculate that proves some buggers need to find something more worthwhile to do
