    Clubber Lang. He trained alone.

He sparred 1000 rounds... only problem was he did them alone... if he'd had some sparring partners/some one to spot him when he weight lifted/ keep time on his bag work etc he might have won both fights?

It was clearly Drago imo. Lang was not used to anyone standing up to him and prior to the second fight Rocky was a one dimensional fighter. Appollo taught him speed and movement with which he destroyed Lang in the rematch.

He clearly showed these new skills in the fight with Drago which to me represents Balboa's finest ring performance.

I think Drago was an overrated opponent. He murdered a Creed who was pushing 40 and had absolutely no pro experience. Rocky was way past his best too and managed to sum up the will to beat the dope fiend. Without the illegal boost ups, Drago would most likely have not gained the notoriety he did.

I personally like the win over Lang. Rocky had to overcome his devastating KO loss and completely re-evaluate his fighting style in order to come back successfully. It was like Hatton coming back as Sugar Ray Leonard, a remarkable transformation. Rocky would never be as finely honed as he was in that fight.
