Mayorga withdraws from the Angulo fight

Its over at Boxing Scene. Gary Shaw says he's been told its an injury he suffered during camp but has gone on saying that he doesn't buy it and that Mayorga is scared of Angulo. Shaw mentions Alfonso Gomez and K9 Bundrage as 2 possible replacement opponents he is talking to in the hope they'll take the fight at 2 weeks notice.

Nate Campbell-Ali Funeka and Sergio Martinez-Kermit Cintron are also on the 14th February card that was supposed to be a triple header.

This was shaping up to be an outstanding card as it was but I think it will still be very nice......Did they say Gomez as a replacement??,please say they did not.I was actually leaning towards Mayorga but it looks like he found a kegger that night instead.Injured my azz.I hope Campbell shines,deserves to be at the top of the mix.Funeka is a bit of a mystery.

I think Mayorga has given boxing all he has to give, and he has nothing left. That last round of his fight with Mosley, you could see by the look on his face that he just wanted no more. He could have finished the fight on his feet, but hes just not interested in taking any more punishment at this point imo. Now, I think a good payday is the only thing that will motivate him to return to the ring.
