That happened over 10 years ago. But you know what though?...

This happened just less than a couple of years ago...

Yeah because we've really seen Pacquiao master the check hook... I am not saying he won't win, but he won't win on a hook unless he has Hatton going backwards.

1, 10 or 20 years ago. Don't matter when. Fact is its happened, and it will happen again next month. You can't grow iron on a body.

What a ridiculous comparison - the guy who knocked out Pacquiao through a good body punch, like Hatton does. Mayweather is a defensive counter-puncher who was too scared to go toe-to-toe with Hatton, whereas Pacquiao is going to stand toe-to-toe with Hatton like he did with Marquez and Morales and he is going to get hit a lot more than Mayweather did. And even Mayweather, elusive as he is, almost got put on the canvas in the opening rounds when Hatton caught him.

Mayweather was toe to toe with Hatton most of the fight, he wasn't in the in the middle of the ring but on the ropes where Hatton is best, and Hatton still wasn't landing the best shots. Don't kid yourself into believing that Mayweather was truly trying to stay away from Hatton that fight, he wanted to beat Hatton on the inside which is why he hardly used lateral movement.

Yep,thats they way I think the fight will go.

Pac-Man's win at lightweight was against a decent but limited fighter who just happened to hold the wbc belt at the time but was not really a top lightweight.

His win at welterweight ,well we all know the story there. At the time DLH was really a lightmiddle who was weight drained and past his sell by date.

Hatton on the other hand is the best light-welter in the world and has been for a long time.

I just hope people dont start making excuse for MP after the fight.

If by standing toe-to-toe you mean clinching and rubbing his elbows in Hatton's face because he was too scared to actually fight him, then yeah, I agree. I'm not taking anything away from Mayweather - he had his tactics, and they worked. However, that doesn't change the fact he was afraid to catch one from Hatton. You could see the shock in his eyes when Hatton nearly knocked him down, and from then on it was elbows galore. And if you want to kid yourself and sweep all that under the rug, and say he was happy to trade shots with Hatton, then quite frankly you've left the land of bias and entered the land of delusion.

I am a Massive Hatton fan so may be a little biased but I really think the Hitman can pull this one off. Pacquiao fans, the bookies and the boxing press all have this down as an easy win for Manny partly due to his one sided demolition of Oscar De la Hoya. Oscar was shot at the weight and offered little or no resistance, throwing nothing in return. Light-Welterweight (140 lbs) is Ricky's division and he will be comfortable at this level standing toe to toe and coming forward throwing bigger and harder punches, (particularly to the body) than Pacquiao has ever had to deal with. The Pacmans coach Freddy Roach is predicting a third round KO, but if his fighter tries to get into a brawl with Ricky and not outbox him he will be in a lot of trouble. I think that Hatton will have improved his defence even more since the Malinaggi fight and against someone who doesn't run around the ring it will be more evident. He will have to watch out for the Pacman's fast left hand and keep working on punishing his arms so that when the Pacman drops them he can slip in and deliver the same devastating left hook that finished Castillo and numerous other opponents. I can't wait, hopefully Ricky can prove along with Froch on Saturday and David Haye in June that British boxers can compete with the best in the world.

LOL, someone still isn't over the Hatton loss.. Mayweather beat hatton at his own game.. did you watch the fight? Did you hear Hatton, himself, state that he didn't think mayweather would be as good as he was on the inside?

This is why i really shouldn't read any more posts about Ricky or Pacman for at least a week before the fight.. because all you really have are fan boys for each fighter and it's ridiculously irritating..

I hope this fight ends in a double KO ending both of their careers.

Although Pac is way improved from them days I also think Hattons bodywork will be the difference and I see him winning by late stoppage!

If Hatton comes in with a good gameplan, then Pacquiao will be getting very sore ribs very quickly. On the other hand he could come in, push on, miss a few and get checked by Pacquiao a few times with his fast combos.

I'm sure both are very well prepared for what they think they'll be facing, I guess in a way it depends if Roach can out think Mayweather Snr or the other way round to a certain degree.

On a side note, sorry to take this off topic a bit but why is it that I can't see the quotes from The Boxing God?...is it because he's left/been kicked from the forum?..I'm still kinda new to a lot of the forum stuff....
