Re: Justice was served last night
Ricky pretty much hit his absolute highest point after beating Tszyu, and old Tszyu but that was still his biggest career win. He managed to keep himself in the picture and defend his title for years after despite his flaws as a fighter. Ricky always had the heart of a champion and the will of one and thats what made him sucessful. I do think that his ego got bigger over the years and he went from being a totally humble champion to the guy that entered the ring last night to a song about himself. He accomplished a lot in his career and became the most popular British fighter along the way and made a lot of fans internationally. I became a fan of his along the way. I even gave him a good chance at beating Manny. But last night, the better fighter won. The much better fighter and truthfully he was made to look like an amateur. And in hindsight, Ricky wasnt going to be improved regurdless of his trainer. He was a the same guy Billy Graham guided to his first title. Mentally I think he thought he was had better than that. Bigger than his roots. So I guess you could say justice was served. The right man won.
