Default I agree with this chap about Hatton

Just read this fellas view on Hatton and totally agree with him so thought i'd share it in here rather than some of the pricks sticking their comments in over on the main board.
    Think he's nailed it really

Dan (Manchester):07 May 2009 12:05 cont...Another trainer with new methods? Hatton can't change. He's embarrassed but that'll subside. Is it worth trying to please his fans for a fight that will do nothing for his reputation. All he cared about in the end was this p4p No1 myth. I cant see any motivation left.Mayweather was his dream - he lost, he questioned himself, questioned his desire, whether he was past it...Manny was his 2nd chance, he rejuvinated himself and got belief from the Paulie fight and his new trainer. His dream has shattered. Motivation to train to such an extent Nothing will motivate him the same ever again.

Dan (Manchester):07 May 2009 12:04 cont...Many more will fancy their chances now. You can't walk through punches forever.
I don't see any point on keep fighting in the hope that one day you actually carry out a game plan a trainer sets out. He could go on forever until that day comes but I think health has to come first. Floyd Snr said Hatton didn't stick to any of the plan (though at large it was supposed to be relentless pressure)..albeit behind the jab and head movement. Hatton has no belts now, Ring Magazine belt gone, IBO - quite meaningless in the first place. Marquez v Mayweather (p4p elite) loser at this stage could see him taking yet more punishment. Or a meaningless fight for the sake of trying to end on a high v Katsidis or Witter...is it worth it?

Dan (Manchester):07 May 2009 12:04 My issue - Why fight Katsidis, Khan or Witter- Hatton has fought for years the same way. It's too late in the day in my opinion to change his style. He talked about tactics and a game plan for the Malignaggi fight and I think the ease he had in beating Paulie probably fooled a lot of people. He did jab slightly more but Paulie has no punch and Hatton resorted largely to walking through his jabs and pressure fighting as he does best. He was supposed to jab and move and test Manny out first but this 'I'm stronger' talk got the better of him and he thought he could walk through Pac's punches. Truth is Pac was too quick and employed his game plan perfectly (Roach deserves credit where it's due). I also believe Hatton's punch resistence is on the slide. He was KO'd by Mayweather and rocked by Lazcano (never a big puncher).

His further brutal KO at the hands of Pac shows chin's don't last forever. Hatton is too predictable and his flaws have been exposed by two elite fighters.

yeah thats spot on... thing is i think Ricky has become too greedy to retire.

the more i think about it the more i see the hatton khan fight really happening.

    easy money in rickys eyes.

another fading champ in khan and warrens eyes.

they both got history of the above its a no brainer you watch this fight being promoted as a retirement fight within the next 3 months.

100% sure of this... unless Khan loses he next one.

We wont see the witter fight... which is a big shame IMO

I'm hearing Katsidis wants it with Hatton which is a danger at this stage of Ricky's career.
They'd tear each others faces to pieces and he def doesn't want to go in with a tear up merchant health wise.
Think the Khan fight will happen too and i bet a lot of money that Warren will push and push for this and have Khan call him out etc just for revenge

Would be huge and could sell out Eastlands (Man Citys ground) with ease.

Would really fancy Khans chances too especially with Roach in his corner and think he'd run rings round Hatton these days.

HUGE UK fight but if Witter wins his title fight as mandatory he could bait Ricky too.

Let's not forget Hatton has No belts and will be out for what he can get now as the P4P "Legacy" fights are simply not gonna happen anymore.

Some good comments there. Hattons motivation and confidence must be shot almost as much as his chin appears to be. He seemed to genuinely believe he would do the job, and with the way he was talking it up he got me believing it too. But there were no changes and from what I saw he looked more out of his league than almost anybody Manny has been in with in many a year. It was shockingly poor.

I struggle to see a way back from that really. He will be pushing 31 towards the end of the year and appears to be a fighter on the wane. There is no point in a farewell fight IMO because it could turn out horribly. But if after seeing stars he is only seeing pound signs then he might do it. I would prefer it not to be Khan, Hatton would usually wipe the floor with him...but god knows what he would be like after that beat down.

I think he will definately have a swansong at Eastlands or Wembley.

Knowing Rickys "lad next door" persona he'll be gutted for the fans who travelled and witnessed that in Vegas and will want to repay them on home soil as a farewell fight and way of appolagy.

He needs to that was shocking

So is this guy suggesting Ricky should retire? Must be a genius.. only 95% of the world share that view.

Although I think he should quit we need to ask ourselves this.

If it was you and you had just had a humiliatingly brutal beating like that would you want that to be the last memory people had of you in the ring ?

If that was me there would be no way I could possibly leave on that note.

Whereas before Saturday we assumed Hatton would whoop Khan easily now we are not so sure. But Hatton will see it as winnable and a victory in the biggest domestic fight we have ever seen would be a good way to go out - if Khan holds the belt of course.

Katsidis doesn't sell in my book, non fight fans don't know him.

Can't believe I am going to have my fingers crossed that Khan wins on 27th June....
