    Default Haye camp wants postponement

Haye camp wants postponement! | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7

Despite yesterday’s announcement that the June 20th heavyweight championship bout between Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye has been called off due to an injury Haye suffered during training camp, the Haye Camp is seeking a postponement rather than a cancellation. “Unfortunately David has sustained a back injury which means he is unable to continue training for a short period,” said Adam Booth, Haye’s trainer and manager. “We’re heading back to the UK for some aggressive physiotherapy. It looks like there will be only a three week delay from the original fight date with respect to David’s readiness, which hopefully means that Wladimir will only postpone the fight, rather than cancel it.”

Alright, so it wasnt his hand that got hurt it was his back?

He only wants a three week postponement, which is almost a month, should this happen? I'd rather that the fight be postponed then watch Wladimer fight a nobody.

However history has shown that late replacements CAN do well. Like Vitali against Lennox, but that was an out of shape ill prepared Lennox.

Should this fight be postponed for 3 weeks?
Or should Wladimer just fight someone else?

Wladimir should move on with the June 20th date. The best result is that Wlad fights Valuev or Chagaev and comes out gunning for a KO and gets it...that would help sell the fight. Wladimir didn't always fight so cautious, I think he's relaxing more and more in the ring and maybe we're just a fight away from seeing him let his hands go like he used to.

You just can't be that big of an asshole and expect people to feel sorry for him

On the other side of the coin if Wladimer fights someone else wouldnt Haye HAVE to fight another Heavyweight to hype the fight then

YES exactly my point....you can't let every shmuck who beats a washed up journeyman get a title shot!!!!

If David Haye is the goods then why is he (and all of his fans) opposed to him fighting top level heavyweights before fighting Wladimir? Why couldn't Haye work his way up the ladder like everyone else? Why couldn't Haye show us what he has vs top level fighters before getting a shot like EVANDER HOLYFIELD did?

Is David Haye a gold medal winner? NO, he lost to Odlanier Solis an undefeated heavyweight!

Is David Haye a more exciting young star than Cris Arreola an undefeated heavyweight

Is David Haye talented enough to outbox Wladimir's STYLE vs Alexander Dimitrenko a young undefeated heavyweight with Wlad's old trainer Fritz Sdunek as his trainer.

If Haye fought 1 of those guys and came out with a flashy KO he could earn a shot at Wlad LEGITIMATELY!!!!! But Haye and his fans are 100% against that happening....I think they are either delusional or they KNOW he can't do it

Because Haye was a former undisputed cruiserweight world champion and that has to be taken into account.

Why did Hatton get a shot at Collazo ? Who complained about it ? What about Calzaghe v Hopkins who complained ? Juan Manuel Marquez v Floyd Mayweather, what has Marquez done above 140 pounds ?

First off, Welcome Back my good friend.

#1 Evander Holyfield was a GREAT cruiserweight but he had to fight 5 heavyweight fights vs very good opponents before he got a title shot

#2 Collazo was a TITLE holder, Wladimir is the holder of multiple titles and is considered THE man of the division. Collazo was also out of Hatton's division by 7 pounds.

#3 JMM is one of the best pound for pound fighters out there, is David Haye

Wlad waited past February AND March and now he's supposed to wait until July?!?!?! Not that it's "unfair" it's just unreasonable...Wlad has better things to do than wait for David Haye to get fit.

Will never happen. If it does it will be a fighter that offers almost 100% no risk. Cliff Crouser or Louis Monaco phone would be ringing non-stop

Definate possibility. Will allow the groupies to say "Haye beat a fighter taller than Wlad"

He's never ever going to fight any differently to the way he does now because he's terrified of being hit on his china chin. That's why he fights like he does and why nobody watches heavyweight title fights anymore.

if its only three weeks then i think Wlad should go ahead and wait. but if he doesnt wait then i cant blame him since he has been wasting time with haye anyways.

Maybe Wlad should do his own provoking....make his own T-shirts of fellow fighters......Ones with Haye standing there with a huge empty section in his chest region

Wlad should not wait on him.Hayes looking to have the opportunity to label ol' Wlad a ducker and play the puppeteer.Haye literally let his mouth write a check he wont be cashing in the biggest opportunity of his career.
