    Default royal marines

ok, so basically ive been working as an electrician for about 6 years, its a steady job, moneys good and all that but im bored with my life at the min. i feel like im just stuck in a rut the same old boring routine, go to work come home fukk the misses go to sleep wake up do the same again blah blah blah.anyways ive been thinking about a career in the royal marine commandos. i no its hard to get into as well theres like a 70% drop out rate the basic training is about 30 weeks or so. i consider myself very fit.so it shouldnt be a problem. what im asking anyone is if they have any insight into the kind of training they put u thru and the life of bein in the the marines if i did get in id be paid less than what i get now but im willing to do that, just for more of an exciting life

    Wink Re: royal marines

    well it's up to you.
Some time back I thought of joining up - for the exercise but then I considered what an idiotic idea it would be, not only from the point I would potentially have to kill some for no other reason that the government tells me to but they may kill me.

I don't trust the government so why the hell would I want to be an instrument of the state?

How about the TA or Fire Brigade?

Alright they mate, being a "SPARKY" as yourself is usually great, but i can imagine you could be finding it hard at the moment with the construction trade being hit by this fooked up recession in the uk.I worked in the construction trade until i got layed off just before xmas!

Erm i trained along side some uk Marines a few years ago on a training session for a few days at Cattrick and their were tough as old boots,"solid really".Check out the little video and this website mate.

So lets get this straight you have a steady job, moneys good and shag the misses regularly and you want to swap all that for busting your balls training, get paid less, risk loosing your life or limbs on the say so of Gordon Brown/Obama. Makes perfect sense. If you do not appreciate what you have you certainly will after that experience.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
