It's a pretty good interview but he also talks a lot about Golden Boy promotions during it and he does make a lot of sense. I had no idea it was a catchweight fight. I'll give you the exerpt where he talks about his worries about the judging


"But I'm very pissed off at the way I was treated for this fight. A few months ago Richard Schaefer assured me that if I fought Juan Diaz he would get all neutral officials and he didn't get neutral officials. They have a judge from Texas, they have a judge from Oklahoma and they have Raul Caiz Sr. who is from California but he is Mexican.

"Besides from being Mexican he (Caiz) is basically Golden Boy's gopher. He's the guy that was the referee for the Victor Ortiz fight that took him to the doctor knowing that Victor was quitting on the spot trying to cover up for him and for you to try to cover up for one of Golden Boy's fighters already shows you're in their pocket.

"And then, on top of that, him (Caiz) and Gale Van Hoy were both judges for the (Rocky) Juarez and Chris John fight. They both scored that fight a draw. OK?

"So more so than that they're a Golden Boy gopher and a hometown Texas guy and they're both known for doing what they're not supposed to do.

"But yet, when we complained about them, we look like the bad guys. We look like we're trying to tell everybody what to do. At the end of the day we have factual proof.

"I have one more thing about proof about Raul Caiz. He judged the Zahir Raheem versus Erik Morales fight a few years back. He was one of the judges. Out of three judges, two scored it 118-110, Caiz Sr. scored it 115-113. So not only did he go for the Mexican he also obviously likes the aggressive guy and doesn't appreciate the boxer in general.

"We've given many, many pieces of proof to show we need the judges changed. They didn't do it.


And on how he feels politics are ruining boxing nowadays


"At the end of the day boxing, as corrupt and as much of a joke as it has become, Golden Boy tries to masquerade themselves as this new promoter that tries to help their boxers and fix the sport. Yeah, you're helping your own boxers, which I'm totally OK with but not at the expense of fucking everybody else either. And that's basically what I feel like I'm going through with this fight.

It's a pretty solid interview, it's not riddled with miles of trash talk etc you'd come to expect from him but it's a pretty good read all around. Hope you enjoy it

Hmmm, looks like he is completely distracted from Diaz. I bet all those words came out in less than 10 seconds too.

Can just picture his weave flying to and fro as he yells this...snapping fingers,"Ohhh no he didn't". If Caiz and GBP had no adgenda going in ,they have one now.Won't be the ref punching him in the face though.

However, I don't see the feather fisted Paulie winning over Diaz, no matter who the judges are.

Paulie is on his last legs with the major networks, and he knows it, maybe he thinks if he calls foul ahead of time, that the judges will see things in his favor, so it doesn't look like they are biased.

I doubt they will though, not the way he trashed them. He better hope that they are fair now, after they way he talked $hit about it.

Interesting read.

Malignaggi will need to work out of his skin to keep Diaz off of him and make sure he lands enough inbetween. He hasn't really shown all that much in quite a while now, so has it all to do.

Needs to show a lot of flashy hand speed to catch the judges attention. Also needs to cut out the excessive holding shit we saw against Hatton. Malignaggi made that quite a boring fight, Hatton hits harder than he will admit to IMO. Still a bit of denial in Paulie about that fight.

Anyway, I'm pulling for Paulie because I quite like the fella (in a non-gay way).
