Default Rendall Munroe might be in for some bother tonight....

Is anyone else thinking that Rendall Munroe has got a real job ahead of him tonight fighting Simone Maludrottu?

Maludrottu took Hozumi Hasegawa 12 rounds in his only real defeat of recent years, and although he got gifted the title in the first fight against Damaen Kelly a few years ago, he was convincing in the rematch. I think this will be a very tough one for Munroe, but it's also a WBC eliminator, and Munroe's toughest test so far.

I havent seen this bloke fight to be honest but if the odds are anything to go by Munroe should have an easy night he is generally 1/7 to beat this bloke, I think hes on the slide the other bloke looking at his record, but I cant really say to be honest without seeing him.

Damaen Kelly was "robbed" against this bloke then got battered in the rematch. Just going the distance with Hasegawa at this level is not bad form. (sorry rhun i basically repeated what you said ) He looked too big and strong for Napa, which obviously wont be the case against Munroe.

Munroe will probably win on PTS but at 4/1, with his only loss in recent years to Hasegawa, I reckon Maludrottu is worth some shrapnel.

That was an excellent little fight, very difficult to score, I had it 115-113 to Munroe. Maludrottu was very good though, I thought he started & finished the better, I'll have to rewatch tonight to get a better scorecard. Hopefully Munroe can move on to world level now, he's got the tools to beat Nishioka.

I thought Munroe was slightly fortunate tonight, if it was held in Italy Maludrottu would have cruised it, but I had it dead even after six, I thought Maludrottu had the best of it early on, and the last two rounds, with Munroe taking the majority of the middle rounds.

Fair play to him though, Munroe really gave it everything, though as much as I abhor agreeing with Jim Watt he was right in terms of Munroe taking the wrong tactics in to the fight.... when he wasn't withing six inches of Maludrottu pushing punches into his belly, he looked a lot better, catching Maludrottu with some better shots and troubling him.

Maloney reckons a world title shot could go to purse bids....I'm not sure if there's ever been a world title fight at the Harvey Hadden leisure centre!

I had it a draw 114-114. Dont have a problem with Munroe getting it though, he put in a massive workrate (bit too much shoeshine on the inside though) and showed good heart to turn it round when it wasnt looking so good in the early going.
