    Default RIP Francisco Rodriguez

Francisco Rodriguez has died following the injuries sustained during his fight with Teon Kennedy for the USBA Super-Bantamweight title.

Born in Mexico, but raised in Chicago he was a former Golden Gloves champ in the city. He was 14-2 going into the bout with Kennedy.

More importantly, he leaves behind a wife & young infant daughter. My thoughts are with them. The promoter says there will be a fund set up to help support them & help pay for funeral arrangements. I will try post it up if I find anything on it.

Francisco Rodriguez Passes Away From Bout Injuries - Boxing News

I felt it was important we honour Rodriguez, I saw this yesterday, but I thought someone who knew a bit more about him might be able to post something.

Anyway I think a speak for all at Saddo's when I say he & his family are in our prayers.

    RIP Champ

This is really sad, RIP to him, that's really too bad. Of course it should serve as a stark reminder that as much as we bitch about fighters and who they are willing to fight, they are risking their life we should give them a bit more respect at times. Teon Kennedy is a guy who can put a lot of clean punches on you if you let him.

RIP Francisco Rodriguez and best wishes to his family and Kennedy aswell.

This is another sad time for boxing this year. May God bless, receive, and comfort Francisco and his family.
