i was watching a highlight reel that had a number of his knockouts, and IMO you can make a claim that he was the hardest puncher ever, shots that weren't thrown with full conviction still looked devastating, truly a great fighter

He could be a canidate but same for many poer punchers of the past...
Though for me Big Gerorge or Earnie Shavers still go neck in neck for the claim..
I mean hell George seemed to never never put his whole body any punch and demolished guys...and not second rate fighters either, hall of fame greats fell to his feet...
Imagine George with a little more speed and follow through like Maybe Tyson or Lewis when he threw a straight hand right?
Chances are he would clearly knock someones head into the 3rd row![]()
Julian Jackson is one of my favorite fighters, and i think he is probably the hardest hitting fighter of all time. His punch technique was superb, and the thud on his punches were scary. And the amount of 1 punch KO's he has is unreal.
If you get time watch his fight vs Thomas Tate, that fight is a war from start to finish. And is probably one of the most exciting Middleweights of the 90s.
You actually see Julian Jackson go 12 rounds in that one, and he is rocked many times but always come backs. That fight shows how tough Julian Jackson could be.
IMO Julian Jackson is not even the hardest hitting LMW/MW, yes he could bang but watch the fight with Tate he hits him with some bombs yes no doubt, but then watch when Roy Jones hits Tate, he just totally crumbles. IMO Roy Jones was the hardest punching MW of all time.
But when you talk about hardest punchers it's hard to talk p4p IMO, because it's about how well you use your weight and the technique of the punch and obviously a 154lbs or 160lbs man isn't going to be able to be judged against someone like Foreman who in his prime was around 225lbs.
I once watched a program on ESPN classic where they tried to explain just how hard a full blown punch off Foreman actually was and they just said that the closest thing to it is a kick from a horse. Well I've seen some injuries from horse kicks and if thats the power of Foreman that is sick power!
