link to old article stating floyd used banned substance xylocaine
Sharkies Machine April 21
Hmm because pain killers are exactly the same as steroids right? And he hasnt tested positive for anything because he fought in Nevada where its legal so he has done nothing wrong. This is such an obvious ploy to try and take the attention of pac, clutching at straws now.
desperate attempt to make Mayweather look like the cheater lol
It was about time we had the pac nuthugging crew come calling.. what other reasons for pac's innocence do you have zbolt? i'm intrigued to hear.
But its no where near the same as that. Floyd Srs comments were based on the fact that pac was doing things most people didnt see possible and he could not see from all his boxing knowledge(hes an idiot but he probably forgets more about boxing then what we ever know) how pac could be doing what he was doing.
This however is a distraction to try and take a the lime light of pac and give them time to regroup.
First line from the first article
"January 8th, 2009"
"It has come to light today that Floyd Mayweather has used injectable pain killers such as Xylocaine in the past before fights."
Date of the second article
"April 21, 2002"
On another note, if it's not banned where he's fighting, he's not exactly doing anything wrong is he?
Does this change the fact that Pacquiao backed out of the fight over a drug test? No it doesn't, but it sure makes a nice distraction.
Trivia, who was Mayweather's promoter during that time?
A. Bob Arum

For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
this is just all media warfare which i really don't care for. i still hope the fight we want gets made. there is still time. pac should accept the 14 day window.
I may be a little late to the game on this but I've read several articles about the real reason why Money didn't want the fight in Texas, because it's illegal for a boxer to use xylocaine on fight night in Texas. Infact, just about every article I've read says that Nevada is the only state in which xylocaine is legal for boxers. As you all probably already know, this stuff numbs your hands which would allow you to throw maximum power shots all night with no fear of feeling pain in your hands. I find this a little hypocritical given what he was accusing manny of doing. I know all the Floyd fans aren't going to like this thread but numbing your hands will greatly improve your performance in the ring as well as other drugs. When floyd and manny finally do fight, Manny should submit to all blood tests, and each fighter should have a representative in the opposing mans locker room to watch the hand wrapping. If Floyd wants to make sure manny's walking in clean, Manny should do the same with Floyd, which should include the xylocaine.
Normally I would post about how
1. If it's not banned he's not doing anything wrong.
2. The source is a tabloid
3. He only did it for one fight (Castillo II)
4. It doesn't matter as Pacquiao already has another fight booked
or something like that.
At any rate here is a thread from right here when it was originally discussed and actually cites a source. It includes all points and counterpoints and really has no reason to be discussed again as this fight isn't on the table right now.
