Default Hatton coming back at 140 not 147, looking at Urango rematch

Urango? What a waste of time, the second half of that fight he was awful and he still beat him easily.

Looks like he's going to fight somebody he can beat then fight Khan. I don't think he'll stop at just the one fight. I'll watch the fights but I don't think he should bother, he's never going to be anywhere near the fighter who beat Tszyu.

I know my British brothers and Sisters love them some Ricky Hatton. I was never sold on him. I thought he was a punching bag with arms.

I've always been a fan, but never a fan boy, I've always known and stated his limitations (and predicted every single one of his fights I have seen correctly - god I'm amazing )... but I think everybody is going to far with condemnation of how good he was. He was never going to beat PBF or Pac, they are in a completely different league, but Hatton was a very good world champion and clearly the best fighter in the world at 140 for a good few years. He had a whole lot more than just stamina and workrate. As for now, he is shot to pieces and should retire.

Gotta say though, If I were him I wouldn't be able to retire ona defeat like that either

Nice post H, I reckon he was up there just was never going to be legendary. I do hope that he isn't being fed a line in BS about how he was beaten by a cheat blah blah, and then comes in less than 100%

Still reckon he should have called it quits though.

A Urango rematch might be a very bad choice for a comeback.

Hatton beat Urango about 10 round to 2, there is no point fighting him again. I'm glad to see Hatton saying it might be more than 1 fight. It indicates that a retirement payday is not what it is all about. He wants to prove himself and make sure the Pac fight was not a true indicator of what he has left.

Whose the better return: Malignaggi or Urango?

I think he should rematch Collazo!

Agreed. He outboxed Urango easily, and he did it with a virus. Thats the reason he ran out of steam in the second half of the fight. The bodyshot from Urango didnt help though, Rick told me he was so close to going down after that shot. After the fight Rick went back to his room and didnt come out, he was wrapped up in about 5 layers of clothes. The Doctor that examined Rick after the fight said that if he had diagnosed him before the fight he would have instructed a week in bed. He couldnt believe he had just fought a 12 round fight in that condition. Rick was also ill for another 5 days after that fight.

Anyone that remembers the fight will remember Billy saying to him during the later rounds, "Come on, you can get through this". He was talking about the virus. Hatton did very well to even see the last bell.

I'm not sure what to think at the minute. I've heard allsorts of things that worry me.
Some people say boxing is a matter of life or death, it's not, it's far more important than that.

Hatton should take the challenge of Alexander.

You're shittin me right? A fast handed southpaw? 2 aspects of an opponent Hatton has never done well against.

Urango isn't a bad choice. A champion who brings an acceptable amount of risk consideringhis power and Ricky's chin now, but is also slow enough for Ricky to look good against. I'd be ok with this a send off.

Ricky gets KO'd in this one if it comes off.
