Default Not much talk on Abraham v Dirrell 6th March

Who you think wins this? I think Dirrell with the correct game plan can take this, what do you guys reckon?

I think Dirrell wins this but he will make it interesting now because of the Froch controversial loss. Abraham is the wrong guy to take too many chances with but now Dirrell is forced to do such. But I think he wins because he will feel Abraham's power and just box circles around him. Dirrell is a superior athlete but he just needs to box smart and get overanxious trying to prove something. I think this is actually the best matchup to beat Abraham.

Where is the fight taking place? I thought Froch got a purely home decision when he fought Dirrel. In my opinion, the only time Froch was able to make an impact against Dirrel was when he was fighting dirty.

If Dirrell can stick to a boxing play and not grapple and fall all over the place then I think he could win this, otherwise he'll be shaking his head at the end wondering why he got robbed again.

I never realised this fight was round the corner! Thanks for the heads up :0)

Both these fighters seem to have their fair share of detractors because of their styles. Speaking of styles, it's not a great match-up.
I think Abraham is really going to struggle to throw against Dirrel, let a lone land punches.

This fight could go two ways, obviously the most likely outcome is that Dirrell is careful and boxes 12 seemingly uneventful rounds.

If not then something amazingly spectacular happens fairly quickly and a lot of people jump on the AA express.
I like, and therefore will be rooting for spectacular

No way Abraham gets the decision in the States, especially considering the next round is Dirrell-Ward. No promoter or Showtime want to sell an all-American fight with one coming off two losses.

Hopefully Abraham gets the KO (he'll need it). The thought of amat crying is very satisfying.

Showtime could help hype Dirrell up by playing him as the innocent American looking for some redemption after being so wrongly done by the arrogant, scheming Brits. Show a scene from Mel Gibson's The Patriot where the Brits burn down a Church filled with people. And so on.

He's gotta try to frustrate Abraham. But at least he has a chance here.

I disagree. Ward-Dirrell was never a big fight; it is probably the smallest money fight of every possible match-up in the Super Six and this is the case whether or not Dirrell wins his fight against Abraham. I certainly agree that Dirrell winning makes the fight with Ward more intriguing especially if Ward loses against Green because they'll be fighting for a spot in the next round, but I, like you, am a big boxing fan. The truth is Abraham is a bigger figure in boxing on a global scale than Dirrell is by a long shot. Abraham is a growing commodity after his destruction of Miranda and Taylor on American television. Moreover, the crowd will be predominantly Armenian, pro-Abraham crowd because Darchinyan is fighting on the same card and it is only an hour away from the biggest population of Armenians outside of Yerevan. Add to all this that Dirrell has almost no fan base at all and I think a credible argument exists that it is in Showtime's interest for Abraham to continue to win.

I say Abraham applies much better, more accurate, more concise and more powerful pressure than Carl Froch, so I'm lookin for Dirrell to get caught and iced by a hook, rope sliding....
