Default floyd-mosley early ppv buyrate indicates 1.1 to 1.2 million buys

sources as quoted by yahoo's kevin iole. if it's only 1.2m ppv buys, it's a good number already but still considered a failure since this fight is the most heavily advertised and promoted fight in recent boxing history.

I think it's good for the port in the long run. Pac drew 1.3 vs Cotto, Mayweather 1.2 lets say Vs Mosley 50/50 Split, 14 day cut off, Cleto Reyes for Pac, Grant for Floyd, standard ring lets have a fight already

if it's only 1.2m ppv, floyd-mosley fight promotion is not earning much.

    my own general estimates:

    revenues:
    1. ppv ------ $70m (1.2m ppv buys x $56)
    2. live gate -- 11m
    3. other revenue -- ??
    rough total = $81m

    expenses:
    1. floyd purse -- $22.5m (minimum guaranteed)
    2. mosley purse -- 7m (minimum guaranteed)
    3. hbo 24/7 ------ 4m
    4. other expense -- ??
    rough total = $34m

1.2 mil? Damn that's shockingly poor if it's true.

The two best American fighters in the world make less sales IN AMERICA than a Phillipino and a Peurto Rican?

    They will be very disappointed.

for fight of this magnitude. it's a good number already but expectations for this fight is high. 2 most known and highly rated american boxers fighting in america.

as one poster mentioned above, a filipino and a puerto rican fight was doing a bit better.
