    Default Hopkins-Calzaghe 2 This Fall?

Schaefer told SI.com that he was moving forward with talks about a possible Bernard Hopkins-Joe Calzaghe rematch. Calzaghe is expected to come out of retirement sometime this year and Hopkins, who sat next to Schaefer at the Khan-Malignaggi fight, has indicated that he wanted that fight.

I guess Joe is just bound & determinded to lose his "0" unless this is a one & done. The first fight sucked why would this be any better??

Don't really care if he comes back or not really...

I have almost no real interest in seeing this fight. I thought Hopkins won the first time around (barely), but he's looked like shit in his last couple of fights. I think he's finally past it. Who knows what Calzaghe has left though. He should just stay retired.

I don't think this fight would generate any interest. If calzaghe were to fight the winner of Dawson-Pascal, or the Super Six, then I'd get excited.

How popular would this fight be at this point? They are too old to wait to make rematches. How Calzaghe left I was certain he would not come back. I figured he had it all figured out like Lennox and would not be dragged back into the game at such an age. I doubt he wants to see a Dawson or Bute. Calzaghe must need to make some money back. Cocaine is a helluva drug.

If he could still get close to his best I'd love him to come back.

Beat Hopkins, smash Bute and then take out the winner of the Super Six.

    He would be a legend.

I know I'm just dreaming here, but that would be fucking epic and so I want to at least have him come back to keep the dream alive.

Part of me would really love him to comeback and clean up. I've always loved watching Calzaghe fight and it really gets me down when a favourite fighter reaches the end of his career. But the other side of me really resists the notion. It would be awful to see a drink/drugs worn out Calzaghe pushing 40 and looking old against fighters he would have beaten handily just a few years prior. In my head it looks a great idea, but then I start to think about the reality and just have to say no. Who comes back and looks great at 38/39? We just have to look at Mosley and Campbell to realise that boxing is seldom an old mans game. In boxing the fighter very rarely finishes on top and it would be nice to see Joe see that through to the end.

This fight doesn't interest me but Joe coming back would mix things up with the super middleweight division, he could do any of those chumps!

    Yawn..........................

    I hope this doesn't happen.

Joe needs to stay retired and Hopkins needs to retire.

There were photos of him on the daily mail website this week on holiday and he's looking pretty trim. I'd say he was about 13 stone, maybe just over so not far off fighting weight.

I think I hear crickets chirping in the distance at that awful, awful attempt at making a play on words. Harbor a little resentment for this pugilistic icon?

Meanwhile, yes, Hopkins is looking to cash out against some older fighters so he doesn't run the risk of getting whacked! And to settle the score... Hopkins LOST the first fight. Hopkins barely made it to the final bell. Without all the fake fouls and placating to the ref... seriously

Well if calzaghe does comeback, he wont have much weight to lose!!

Oil's well with Joe and Kristina: Tender moments prove Calzaghe is still in love with his dance queen | Mail Online

Makes you wonder whether he has purposefully kept himself in shape, knowing that he could get a decent offer whithin a few years of retiring.

Id like to see him rematch Hopkins and stop him.
