    Default Phil Taylor - wow.....

Just watched last night's pdc premier league final between Taylor and Wade. Taylor won 10-8 and averaged 111 for the match

He hit two 9-darters , yes TWO, in the final. Probably never see anything like that again - and what people who never saw don't realise is that in the very next leg after the second one he threw 7 perfect darts and missed the 8th. And the crowd booed !!

Genius - greatest sportsman of all time ever in the world though will never get the recognition because its darts.

Darts is a shocking sport, but he is simply incredible, to be that much better than every other player for years is such an achievment.

I love the fact darts is still a true drinking sport, their entrances are brilliant and the crowd go bonkers!

I no alot of people think darts is a joke of a sport, but come on it don't matter if you don't have to do much physical work to be in shape for this sport.

Still takes alot of mental strength dedication hard work and bottle, I mean this ain't no mickey mouse sport/event anymore Darts this is one of the top earning sports in the country I mean last night Taylor walked home with £125k for his win.

The guy is unreal, I don't actually like the man well from what I see off him in his interviews seems a bit patronising and full of himself and his name dropping is cringe worthy, but you have to admire the blokes skills he has dominated the sport for 20 years and most dart players are past it at his age he just seems to get better.

He only lost this event last year out of all the major tv events now he has won it this year, if he goes on to win all the tv major's I think someone like Hammer has to get a petition on Facebook going for him to win Sports Personality of the Year!!

agree re his name dropping - don't know why he needs to do it in his position.

every interview he does he mentions a 'best friend' celebrity.

'that will be steve davis texting me'
'was talking to ronnie o'sullivan the other day'
'ricky (hatton) is like a son to me'
'had a bet with barry hearn this morning'
'was having a pint with Wolf from Gladiators last Tuesday'

    etc...

    The mans a genius.

I'm sure beating Wade was revenge for Taylor not getting to shag Helen Chamberlain.

not really a sport though is it

if you were to say "greatest ever pub games player of all time" id tend to agree

But the day i compare a fat beer drinking darts player to the likes of mayweather, federer, messi etc i`ll be cold in my grave

curling involves running down an ice rink and brushing a stone into the correct place

The other 2 i entirely agree they arent real sports just as darts isnt

Nobody outside of the UK is ever gonna take darts seriously just like nobody outside the US would with pool. By your method of thought i could quite easily argue in favour of chess, monopoly, tiddlywinks etc all being sports

running they fucking glide down and use a mop - i break more of a sweat cleaning

you can only be master of the sport you are in and Taylor is that

no one will ever do in golf, tennis, boxing etcc what he has done in darts

tiddlywinks is a sport already i think

Yes because its a pub event exclusively played by britain and most of holland

The 3 sports in question that actually require some(any) kind of physical endurance are performed world wide with a dense pool of talented sportsmen, not by someone who spends too much time in his local pub and chippy (before you even say it, yes i am referring to blokes like myself )

i just dont buy into it mate. Yes its a shitload of fun, anyone who watches darts cant at least admit its great on the eye, but an actual sport..............no chance
