Interesting fight. We have a former light heavy moving through cruiser and now heavy who is pretty small at the weight against a guy who is a super heavy and massive at the weight. Grant is in great shape and should be dangerous but has nowhere near the class of Adamek.

It will be a nice clash of styles but a pianful night for Grant IMO. Theres a good chance that Grant takes too many clean shots early and gets flustered before he's even got into the fight.

I've read somewhere that Main Event took this fight for Adamek because it was a good way for him to have more experience against much bigger with longer reach opponents. Fourth fight this year for the Polks, I am not against an easier payday with an interesting experience at the key for him and then... Haye if he doesn't want to fight the K again.

yea it says it in the espn article that he's basically looking to get some experience against someone the size of the Klitschko's, Haye isn't really bigger than Adamek in height or reach, and he's no natural heavy himself, but yea i really don't think Grant has much to offer other than his size and well a chance for Adamek to keep himself in shape, if/when Adamek wins what will be his 3rd fight this year (Estrada, Arreola, and now Grant) i don't see anyway he doesn't get a title shot by the end of the year or early 2011, others (Haye) were less accomplished and had done far less to get a shot

After last night with Tua being shown once again to be a built up slugger with no plan B, who knows. Grant may have one good fight left in him.

    Default Adamek vs Grant

What are your thoughts on the fight. Adamek is going to prove nothing with this fight.

Honestly, I think that it is a great move and I explain why:

It's Adamek's 4th fight in 12 months, that's a LOT. It would be a bit bold to put him against a top contender with a 4th fight in less than a year, especially because he did climb the rungs pretty well lately. Secondly, this is a good little test for Adamek against the huge guys, especially if he seeks to fight one of the K eventually. So all in all: 1) it keeps him active without burning him, 2) allow him to test the big guys 3) get him and Main Event another pay check in the meantime.

For these reasons I think it is very good, we all know Grant is nowhere close of somebody impressive but in the circumstances, it is a really good overall option.

I agree 100%, at least he is active. I'd much rather a fighter fought 2 good fights and 2 easy ones a year than 1 over hyped fight every 12 months.

    Isn't that right Mr Haye!

Exactly. In this fight Adamek is going to try out afew things and get use to being in the ring with a bigger man. Its more than just a mark in time fight. He wants to test his strength up close against an 18st man. I expect him to practice some moves, show some quick footwork and pretty much go through the motions. Punching up is something Haye had to do vs Valuev and something he will have to do again vs the Klitschkos. Same goes for Adamek. Its a glorified sparring session but it is a good learning experience cuz it wasnt too log ago Grant was being bigged up as the future of the division.

I don't approve of the opponent but Tomaz is active. I do think Tomaz proved enough against Arreola to have 1 soft fight...at least its not Audley Harrison (although now that I think about it Harrison-Grant or Briggs wouldn't be horrible, chinny big guys with some pop could be something for ESPN to consider)

Grants a big guy but this Is mostly a showcase fight got that exact reason.Brothers in mind.Grants size today is more of a detriment, more to sway and never really used it all that well.I think Grant needs to be watched close, good to be busy but they could have found more current guy.
