Default Andy Lee to fight John Duddy

what a cracking clash of styles.

I think I would have to make an appearance at that one.

I've thought this would be a great fight for years! I've been waiting for Andy Lee to step up his level of competition for a while now. He had a horrible loss to Brian Vera, and a not so great outing vs Willie Gibbs but he's riding a hot streak of late. I think in a middleweight division without Kelly Pavlik, Andy has a good chance to be top dog for a while, at least until some top Jr. Middleweights move up.

I figured a Lee-Sturm match would be very good as well.

I always liked John Duddy and thought he had a very crowd pleasing style, but I think he'll get outclassed in this one.

If they fight, Andy will outclass him...he may even force a mercy stoppage. I know a lot of people have jumped off the Lee bandwagon after the Vera loss but I think he can still win a world title...it just depends on who he fights. For instance, he should avoid Martinez like the plague.

Andy should get himself rated by the IBF(he's not in the top 15) and target Sylvester.

He stands a little too upright and seems a bit stiff....he's easily caught by right crosses. His chin isn't horrible though it would stand to do better if he avoided more right crosses. He's got good pop, good hand speed, and he should be able to take on just about anyone right now, Sylvester would be a good match for him.

I used to have Duddy in a bit better esteem boxing-wise, now I really don't see how he could make it pass Andy Lee beside with a lucky punch and we've seen that Lee has a damn good jaw.

Duddy by KO, Lee's chin is not good, look who he's been fighting. A shot Willie Gibbs can go 10 Duddy has a better shot than most would think.
