    Default Thank You Gerry

Thanks for all the awesome fights. You're a true Yoda of boxing.

    Penalosa leads RP pugs’ sweep

    Btw...

    Milmascaras,

This is a Penalosa appreciation thread. We don't need your anti-Pinoy comments here.

So if you don't have anything nice to say about the person who contributed so much in boxing, then kindly GTFO of this thread.

I remember him being featured on USA Tuesday night fights years ago and had never seen or heard of him....it was like finding a hidden gem of boxing ability. Pleasure to watch and just wanted to see more.

one of the grittiest fighters in a long time who just doesn't seem to get the credit he deserves, the way he was able to revive his career is just amazing, his career highlight was his KO win over Gonzalez, but IMO he was robbed against both Ponce De Leon and Morel, he had a cast iron chin and his fight against Lopez tells you all you need to know about his heart, the guy was a true warrior

didn't see the morel/penalosa fight so i can't comment on that but come on morales, do you really, really believe he was robbed against de leon? dude, the guy didn't throw any punches. how can you get robbed if you're out thrown and out punched 5-1? come on now dude, maybe the near shutout scores weren't fair but penalosa DID NOT deserve to beat de leon. and another thing, while de leon didn't land a lot of hard shots, at least he landed a lot of jabs and definitely outworked penalosa by a mile. like i said in my previous comments, gerry's style was his own undoing because he was a safety first, low output fighter with a very boring style.

if De Leon's last name was Johnson we wouldn't be having this discussion, Penalosa landed the harder more effective punches and even managed to hurt De Leon, competitive fight where IMO Penalosa won it, oh just in case you don't understand what IMO is, it's in MY OPINION

Penalosa beat Ponce, no doubt in my mind. Its not all about just throwing punches, landing clean hard punches is supposed to be fairly important.
