After watching that Margo's 5/1 looking better by the day!!
But saying that I think HBO have cleverly edited the show so people don't think this will be as one sided as most think.
Judging from Marg's sparring clips, he's too slow... too stiff... too steady. Pac's sparring mates are 3x faster than marg.
But ofcourse, that's just my observation from 24/7 first part video. Everything is different under the lights.
Margo imo is close to being a shot fighter, a one sided ud for Pac at the very least, a late stoppage is also very possible.
Marg has never been about his speed, I bet he was wearing plaster in his fight with Cotto, but he was hitting Cotto almost as much as Manny and all his speed was able to do, and he was doing more damage to Cotto IMO, but that could have been illegal wraps.
Either way I think Manny wins, but not because of Marg's speed as much as its about Manny being... him, but he needs to be careful and stay of the ropes, and to do so he must arrive in the best shape of his life.
I thought it was an interesting enough episode. I still believe this could well be a more difficult fight for Pac than many are expecting. Margarito seems up for this and he clearly has no distractions. The same can't really be said for Manny, but clearly Manny is favourite and rightly so.
I wasn't impressed with Pacs team revealing that there a window on the testing. Still seven days, that's not exactly the same as what Mosley allowed himself to go through.
Agreed! Because Manny was such a huge favourite I think they had to come up with stories of distractions otherwise people will know its a walkover and wont bother buying it.
Fact is Margarito is in for a thrashing. Speed kills in boxing and it will be the key in the heavyweight title fight earlier that night too. The big guys are too slow and the speedsters can come in and out with their power punches. Audley and Tony need them to stand still in order to stand a chance.
Margarito couldnt adjust vs Mosley. He was losing but stuck with his gamplan which led to a KO defeat. He will no doubt get outboxed in this one early too but will stubbornly stick to it and thats when Pac will have Tony walking into massive flush power shots and one of those will take him out in the mid to late rounds depending how bad Tony wants it. Pac will have to have a real bad off night if he were to lose to a slow plodding Margarito. No doubt the Mexican will show heart but these two are in different leagues. Most of the boxing community will want to see Tony get another beating for using the illegal wraps and thats what they'll get on the 13th.
... Hard to see how anyone cannot like manny. Reguardless of who you think he can or can't beat
