Default AA's future in the Super 6

Just heard that on German TV he announced he will no longer be taking part in the super 6 tourney. Anyone able to confirm this? before I start to call him a little bitch.

    HAHAHA

That would mean there are only 3 origonal super 6 fighters left now wouldn't it?

The whole thing has become a disaster.

I would hardly call it a disaster, especially for the fans. It made some of the better fighers get in the ring and fight. I wish all weight divisions would have a tournament.

Behave. On paper it was a good idea. The execution hasn't worked. and to be fair that's been down to fighters pulling out for one reason or another.

I actually forgot Dirrell pulled out.

True, the execution hasn't been good due to pull-outs. They seemed to have learned from it with the Bantamweight tourney, a 4 man straight knockout tournament seems much more workable. It has given us some good fights and interesting style match-ups, and we could still have some more with Froch-Johnson and the winner against Ward.

nope it would only be 2, Froch and Ward

    it started out

    Andre Ward
    Andre Dirrell
    Carl Froch
    Arthur Abraham
    Mikel Kessler
    Jermain Taylor

first Taylor resigned, then they brought in Green, then Kessler pulled out and they brought in Johnson, then Dirrell bitched out and they left it at 5, if Abraham really has pulled out then it's only the Super 4, 2 of the guys having been in the tourney from the beginning, overall i'd say it's been a pretty big letdown

Am I the first person to ask for a source

I've seen nothing on the web apart from forum rumours that he's quitting, so I suspect he'll stay in. He has a puncher's chance against Ward, but he'll make more money from this fight then he would elsewhere right now.

Haven't heard of it,but wouldn't be surprised...anyway the only thing I know so far is that AA won't fight Ward in march and that he probably will fight in may again...

it definately hasnt been a disaster, and in away its served its purpose

we wanted to find the best supermiddle and were down to the best 2

it would make more sense to lose johnson but maybe brute wil step in for AA

    or Kes might come back

If Arthur Abraham drops out then the Super Six has been a gigantic failure in my eyes. Of course, many of us suspected as much in the begining. It's too harsh a sport to make a long term scheme like this pan out.

A few great fights is fine, but as a wound wobin (Kripke) it's proved itself garbage.

The Supersix has served its purpose, in as much as we now know the top two fighters in the competition. Froch and Ward have proven themselves worthy finalists.

The only thing that has annoyed me is that they kept bringing in substitute fighters when they should have either shortened the tournament or brought back one of the others and changed fixtures around.

It's an absurdity id they make Carl Froch fight Glen Johnson and Andre Ward fight an as yet unnamed opponent in the semi finals. Utter lunacy imo.

Just make the final fight now, Ward vs Froch. If they don't want to shortchange Glen Johnson, let him fight the winner.

But putting obstacles in front of the big final would be idiotic in my mind.

Fair enough you make a great point. It's just a bitch move if it's true.
