Default LWW division: Strongest in boxing today

I was looking at what a (non)fighter Miguel Cotto has turned into. He is clearly cashing in his last few fights and biding his time. He used to be as fearless a competitor as any trainer could hope for and willing to fight anybody. He did not like long layoffs out of the gym. He had an iron jaw, great left hook to the body and true boxing ability when he need to conserve. He was never bothered by being knocked down, bloodied, bruised or all around battered. He could muster up eye blinking stoppages and spoil light punchers game plans. Miguel Cotto has brought us some of the best fights in the last decade time and again.

How would Cotto fare against the top tier LWWs today? Basically, rewind the clock 7 years:

    Bradley
    Alexander
    Khan
Maidana (I am beginning to drool just thinking of these two guys in the ring)
    Kotelnik
"Floyd needs to inject Xylocaine into his balls to gain the courage to fight Pacquiao."

    - and I quote from some random guy on the internet

I think he pretty much cruises past all those guys...maybe if Khan or Alexander were able to use solid defense they may bother him, but at 140 Cotto was breaking dudes' faces. He stopped Gianalucca Branco with a punch to the shoulder!!!!

Cotto only started looking vulnerable at 140 once he started having problems making weight, which was basically around the time of his fight against Corley, if you look at the weigh in pic to that fight he looks borderline dead, IMO he would have still beaten most of the fighters at 140 today, and IMO he would have walked right through Hatton

i agree. cotto was a beat at jr. welterweight when he was not having weight problems. the only boxer out of this group who i think could give cotto problems early on is timothy bradley. but i think in the middle rounds, cotto would start to impose his strength and have bradley reeling in the later rounds. other than that, i see cotto dominating everybody else.

if Khan would use his height and reach i could see him controlling the fight early on for the first 3 or 4 rounds, then Cotto would start to come on and wear down the body, and you know damned well Khan wouldn't stand up to Cotto's best shot

If Khan dominates Maidana on the weekend then I'll go with Khan doing the same to Cotto.

Cotto vs Hatton/ Maidana/ Khan gets me excited.

Maidana, could see him finishing Cotto late on after taking the body shots. But would be fireworks.

    Cotto stops Hatton.

LWW has been the strongest division for a while now. That and the ones close to it.

I think out of all of them, khan (because of his speed) gives cotto the most trouble , but even then I see cotto adjusting and taking over in the later rounds. Madaina should get outboxed, Not sure on bradley, Ill have to think about that one. I see Alexander being outthought and outfought.

These guys might go on and achieve great things so my opinion may change, but as it stands this is what I think

and even given Khan's speed Cotto's timing especially when he was at 140 was spot on, so like i said Khan probably would have had early success then Cotto would start to time him and break him down to the body, eventually getting the stoppage

    morales,

definitely! i think amir khan is an overrated hype job and cotto would have had him running the whole time and destroyed him in the later rounds. at 140, cotto was an animal with great strength and power. only until he started having trouble making 140 was he getting a little vulnerable but otherwise, no 140er today could have been able to touch him.

I think Cotto and Hatton beats them at their best but these fighters have not peaked yet.

I also think Hatton could have beaten Cotto just about the time Cotto beat Paulie at LWW.
