Bernard Hopkins all day...and wide.
Toney would have knocked his ugly snaggletooth ass into outer space... that what JT says anyway
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Prime for prime I would have to lean towards toney by a Nats bollock.
Hopkins being Hopkins, he'd absolutely refuse to march to Toney's beat and would be the ring general 8 times outta 10.
I think Hopkins would wind up and frustrate Toney and probably win via UD.

1 thing is for sure it would be an ugly fight to watch.
I think the skill sets of Hopkins and Toney cancel each other out. Hopkins likes to constantly change distance and maul on the inside and a prime Toney would be more than up to that defensive challenge. Toney's offense was based on countering and when he had straight punches thrown at him he had more trouble closing the gap and landing a counter and that's his flaw in fighting vs Hopkins.
I figure it like this 30% Chance its a wide UD for Hopkins, 30% Chance its a wide UD for Toney, 5% Chance Toney wins by TKO/KO and 35% its too close to call or a split decision.
.....And what the fuck is a job biscuit?!?!
It would likely be a very boring 12 round match.
I would guarantee that there would be no knock out.
Would have been a potential classic I believe. Hopkins had a much higher activity level at middle and fast shifting footwork. Toney was not afraid to mix it up and stationary defense was incredible as was the short concise counters. Mentally I think Hopkins walks away with it and in and out and straight punching wins dec for him. Forces Toney on his heels. Wouldn't have shocked top see Hopkins dropped on his wallet before its over though.
Hopkins even against prime Toney. James just had the shoulder roll all wrong, and Hopkins would move to his right and nullify anything James could throw at him. Also Bernard would go to the body. Sure Toney looked really talented against guys that stood right in front of him and allowed him to counter, but when have we seen anyone counter effectively on Hopkins? The only punch that works consistently on Bernard is the jab, and Jermain Taylor was the only one who ever really used it against BHop and got two wins because of it. But his jab was way better than Toney's.
Yeah man bhop all day and easily!!!
For having an opinion on a hypothetical fight? Look at their careers now. Hopkins always comes the ring well prepared and even at the age of 46 is challenging the best in the world. Toney would have been outboxed and outfoxed IMO.
Should I point out the irony of being referred to as a moron and "about 12" by a guy who ends every post by saying "job biscuit eh eh"?
Toney may have had abit more natural talent but it doesnt take a genuis to work out Hopkins far more self control and is more disciplined. He has focus where Toney has arrogance and I reckon over 12 rounds Hopkins would be more consistent and get a decision.
