Nobody likes to see a shot former great get badly hurt when he has no business fighting anymore, so there will be no glory at all for Lebedev's KO. It won't even get mentioned at year's end because the knockout really is just associated with sadness.

Same if/when Holyfield finally gets put to sleep.

It won't be knockout of the year because the fight had no significance. Roy had lost his previous two fights, one by first round kayo.

    definitely better.

Andy Lee's KO of McEwan on BAD was also a good KO.

It was a horrid KO and hopefully the last time we see Jones lace them up. Holyfield you can kind of give a pass to as he is fighting nobodies and getting through the rounds relatively unscathed, but Jones is a serious ambulance case now. The man simply doesn't respond well to getting hit in the head. Sure, you can look at Toney and say the same thing considering his health issues, but he isn't getting knocked out cold once a year.

42 with nowhere to go, just end it.

There's really nothing special about Lebedev's KO, Jones Jr. is basically a journeyman/has-been who's already been knocked out several times, big fucking deal, what's new?

BTW, I don't feel sorry for Jones, he's doing this just for money and ignoring the risks to his health, fuck him.

Ditto what others have said. Only KO that wins KO of the year is one that people want to see replayed, and this was an ugly knockout, if ever that phrase can be used without a heavy sense of irony. I mean the last hit that sent Roy down...was there really any need? Those are the types of hits, when an opponent is completely incapable of defending himself anymore, that end lives. Kind of reminded me of Barrera smacking Marquez on the temple when he was already on the canvas, though this one, with the angle and the leverage he was able to gain for the hook, the way Roy's head twisted...nothing short of malicious. Someone needs to stop Roy Jones from boxing, he's a danger to himself, and it's sad to see a true great getting knocked out fight after fight.

If it wasn't Jones jr it's just another clubbing accumliative punch out on an overmatched and undertrained fighter. Weekly event.

roy jones was a my favourite boxer for years and i'm still amazed when i watch his clips especially montages like this one...

in recent years i've had to face the facts and admit to myself that he did not fight the best fighters available and the ones he did fight were often total mismatches. he bravely defended his titles against a part time cop, a bartender and cab driver and looked spectacular doing so. as shown in the clip...

you cannot deny his incredible skills and almost super human agility and speed...but against whom did he choose to display and test his abilities? if you look at the records of the fighters that roy chose to fight on boxrec, at first glace things look pretty solid...but take a look at the fighters that those fighters built their respectable looking records on and you'll see the problem. there's alot of red... alot of red!

he did alot of amazing things inside the ring. things we'll never see anyone do again. he amassed belt like no one else and set the middle to heavy record...but lets be reasonable and look at the whole not just the flash.

Those men don't get to be mandatory challengers for a title unless the sanctioning bodies rank them which means that they were impressive enough to earn title shots. Also alot of the men roy jones defeated were already title holders or won belts after roy beat them. Which is much more impressive than beating men that never fought again.
