If he boxed professionally, you should be able to google his name followed by the word boxer & have something come up on boxrec

It should most def be on boxrec.com. If not, then maybe the bouts weren't recorded or sanctioned or your friend is full of it.

We looked on boxrec and didn't find him. Is that a "if it's not here it didn't happen" kind of site?

Sometimes they miss the odd one but if you can find out who he fought its sometimes on their record so you seek in reverse.
