    Default Vacation for the sheepster

Alright, this year we had to limit our travel because of stupid responsibilities. However we are still gonna do a little pacific northwest visit. 3 days in Seattle and 4 days in Portland. Even though we will only be gone a week, my boss is making me audit one of our vendors up there, as payment for taking time off.

In Seattle we're staying a few blocks from the Space Needle, as it's my first time there and I have such a small amount of time, I figure I should get the touristy stuff out of the way first.

In Portland we're staying with family and will be checking out all the cool restaurants and maybe doing a beach day.

I am actually looking at boarding our pets, because it would be difficult to get someone to watch them. Anyone have any experience/advice for that?

I stay in the Queen Anne neighborhood pretty much every time I'm in Seattle. I love it there.

The Mediterranean Inn is the best place I've stayed in so far in that area. The University District is great too. I fucking love Seattle.

My advice for boarding your pets is either leave them with your vet or find a good boarding facility.

My vet doesn't have boarding facilities. As for a good boarding facility, I'm not really sure what to look for.

Your vet won't board your animals That's odd....well if they are a good vet ask them for suggestions.

I went to space needle at about 10pm, no crowd and good view although it was not rotating but the drunks I was driving thought it was. Go up to Vancouver if you can.

First route I'd go is with same facility and Vet that takes care of pets health and vx's. Familiarity for both pet and staff, history on hand and piece of mind for you. If thats not available check with Dr for suggestions as they are likely to refer quite a bit and have a particular provider in mind. If they do not, get a new vet jk ps...make sure your not asking a stressed out flustered receptionist over the phone, just sayin.

They have a provider in San Diego called Sleepover Rover Inc. and I believe they have one in Phoenix as well. I don't know your exact location but a friend was talking about them and they actually come to your house and may provide care at certified homes. Sure to be a bit more expensive and do not know how you feel about that but keeps pets in their own environment and kennel free. We see more and more of that. Some pets can be stressed out big time with first time (?) boarding and likewise yourselves ha. There are doggie day care places also, some places set times to come to your home, so just shop around a bit and ask local friends. I'd personally avoid smaller boarding facilities, grooming providers and anyone private doing it out of the house etc. Make sure all vaccines are required and ask about Med care available in case of emergency. They should give you zero flack about bringing your own food, familiar item with pet (comfort item etc) and providing a good bath prior to going home if wanted. Boarding + summer + many mutts = FLEAS. If your dogs are on any types of medications or have existing health problems make sure they know and it is addressed. Leave any and all contact numbers. Some places have large walking areas provided, ask to see area if you want as well the actual boarding area pets will be housed in. You don't want to go overboard and act a ninny dropping them off with 1001 concerns (you'd be surprised what you see) but there are no bad questions and they are in fact your 'kids' so facility should be eager to provide you with piece of mind and pets with some awesome care. Need coffee....never been to Seattle myself but sounds good too.

Have the pets 'put down' to memorialize the trip. Or as a sacrifice directed to the leisure gods.

Hope you have a great time.
We made a blue once and went with a local old guy to look after our dog as he was advertizing in the local. I told him our dog will get out climb or dig given half the chance so he has to be secured. An hour later we were still packing our stuff and just about to leave and the old bugger rings us and tells us he has escaped and he's never seen a dog like it Oh fuk.Lucky we were driving and no flights.
I caught the little shit about an hour later before he got squashed on the highway or caused worse.
Anyway make sure you check the compound out, do a walk through. Ask alot of questions.
*IF they answer a question and look down straight away they are fucking liers walk away .

We now leave ours here ,but they dont get the heated motel room and tv ours are in the caged section.
